Case Description:
Ms. Ding Shuyi, 60 years old, is from Xuzhuang Village, Donggang Town, Haigang District, Qinhuangdao City in Hebei Province. Before she practiced Falun Gong, she had several kinds of rheumatism and her body felt so painful that she was unable to take care herself. After she started practicing Falun Dafa in 1997, her diseases were gone. After the persecution of Falun Gong started, she went to Beijing to appeal in December 1999. She was arrested and detained at Tutaizi Detention Center in Haigang District for one month. Afterward, she was repeatedly picked up by the police and sent to brainwashing centers, where she was subjected to persecution. The authorities often went to her home to harass her. It caused extreme mental pressure and later she was diagnosed with liver cancer. She passed away on June 14, 2003.
