Li Aige - 李爱格
(Minghui.org) Mr. Li Aige is a Falun Gong practitioner from Wang Village, Xiong County, Hebei Province. His entire family has benefited from his practice. When the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started persecuting Falun Gong, it co-opted all its media to denounce Falun Gong, and practitioners were deprived their freedom of speech. In 2002, Li Aige participated in broadcasting the truth about Falun Gong on TV, and was sentenced to 15 years in the Baoding No. 1 Prison.
Li Aige suffered both mentally and physically in prison. He developed symptoms of high blood pressure and heart disease, but the prison would not release him.
On the evening of October 29, 2011, he suffered a cerebral hemorrhage and was sent to the hospital for emergency treatment. The prison then notified his family and forced them to sign a statement absolving the prison of responsibility for his condition. Only then was he approved for medical treatment outside the prison. Mr. Li's wife, Wen Aixia, signed the statement reluctantly, but she was eager to get him out of the prison so he could be treated.
Mr. Li Aige recovered somewhat after coming home, but people in the Bureau of Justice in Xiong County harassed them twice at home.
On May 5, 2012, Mr. Li suddenly fell ill and spent 45 days in the hospital, which cost 80,000 yuan. He has now become bedridden and dependent on others.. His family is under great financial stress. His wife had to take care of him, so she could not go to work to support the family. All this suffering was caused by the CCP detaining him for nine years.
