Ma Xingyong - 马兴勇
(Minghui.org) Mr. Ma Xingyong was a Chinese medicine doctor in Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province. He was arrested for talking to his patients about Falun Gong shortly after the persecution began in 1999. He was held at Luohu Detention Center for four months before being taken back to his hometown in Shantou City, Guangdong Province.
Mr. Ma and his son were arrested together in 2003 for posting stickers bearing messages about Falun Gong. They were both given forced labor, with Mr. Ma receiving three years and his son one year. His son was still a college student at the time.
Mr. Ma and his wife were taken to a brainwashing center around July 2007 for their faith in Falun Gong.
In 2011, Mr. Ma was arrested again. The police also seized his wife after raiding his home. His wife was given one year of forced labor and he was sentenced to Meizhou Prison. He kept doing the Falun Gong exercises in prison and was brutally beaten. He could no longer walk or take care of himself when he was released. He also suffered some brain injuries and was hospitalized three times in the next three years.
Mr. Ma filed a lawsuit against Jiang Zemin in August 2015. He died on October 26, 2016.
