Wang Fudong - 王福冬
(Minghui.org) The railway police in Daan City have been targeting practitioners traveling through the North Train Station since the persecution of Falun Gong started in 1999. Practitioners are arrested, arbitrarily given prison sentences, or have died as a result of persecution. The following are some known cases.
Mr. Wang Fudong wrote a letter to a police chief telling him why it is wrong to persecute Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline taught in China since 1992. He was arrested and incarcerated in Daan City Detention Center in 2002. Because of his deteriorating health, he was later released.
As he was about to take a train from Daan’s North Station back to Dalian City, where he lived at the time, the railway police arrested him. They locked him up in the Daan Detention Center for another two weeks with no regard for his poor health. Mr. Wang’s physical condition worsened terribly as a result.
After sustaining abuse under detention, Mr. Wang was severely underweight, the skin on his back was ripped, and he could barely eat. Not wanting Mr. Wang to die in their custody, the police put him back on the train to Dalian. He became bedridden after he returned home and died in agony in 2006 at the age of 31.
Mr. Wang was not the only victim. Earlier in 2017, Mr. Li Wei was also questioned and arrested by the railway police at Daan North Station. He was tried and sentenced to seven months in prison.
Mr. Liu Meng was arrested after the railway police found Falun Gong music in his mobile phone. He was also tried and sentenced, and is currently appealing his case at Baicheng City Intermediate Court.
