Case Description:

(Minghui.org) Ms. Shen Zhenlan was a resident of Anshan City, Liaoning Province. She and her husband were repeatedly arrested for practicing Falun Gong. Both of them were given one year of forced labor in 2001. They were arrested again in July 2004 and both sentenced to prison. Ms. Shen was given six years but released on medical parole after she was found to have high blood pressure. Her husband was given five and half years.


Ms. Shen had blurred speech and head twitching after she returned home. She also had trouble walking. Her employer suspended her salaries and all employee benefits after her arrest and never reinstated them. The forfeited amount totalled at least 572,800 yuan.


Ms. Shen and her husband were given runarounds when they went to various government agencies to complain about her employer's forfeiture of her compensation. They demanded she write a statement to renounce Falun Gong. She refused.


Ms. Shen died on November 2, 2016.
