Li Jichang - 李积昌
(Minghui.org) Mr. Li Jichang was a Falun Gong practitioner in Tangyuan County, Heilongjiang Province.
He was arrested in December 1999 by officers Zhou Tiegang and Xuqing. While held in the local detention center, Mr Li was interrogated with torture and promised to give up Falun Gong against his will. He resumed practicing Falun Gong after he was released 15 days later.
Mr. Li was arrested on July 28, 2000 and the police fired four shots in the air when he refused to be taken away. Officer Xu Qing whipped his hands with metal chains and beat him. He was unable to endure such torture and said what the police wanted him to say. He was then sent to Tangyuan Detention Center.
Three months later, he was given two years of forced labor at Jiamusi Labor Camp.
A labor camp guard named Wang Tiejun shocked Mr. Li with an electric baton when he looked around a bit while being forced to sit still on a small stool.
The guards once chained him to a bench placed in the doorway. It was very cold and they kept him there for hours.
His family and child visited the labor camp several times but were never allowed to see him.
The guards once chained Mr. Li to a floor anchor for three days before hanging him up to a bed frame for more than twenty days.
Mr. Li's health quickly declined and never recovered after he was released. He died on May 29, 2013.
