Case Description:

(Minghui.org) Ms. Zhang Ping was a resident of Xi'an District of Liaoyuan City, Jilin Province. She began to practice Falun Gong in 1998. After the persecution began in July 1999, she went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong and was arrested. She was brutally beaten while in custody and wasn't released until one month later.


When Ms. Zhang was arrested again in 2004, she was given three years of forced labor.


Ms. Zhang's third arrest on July 1, 2012 was followed by a four-year imprisonment at Changchun Women's Prison. Her health declined due to abuse she suffered in prison.


The police kept harassing her at home after she was released. They confiscated her Falun Gong books and also took pictures of her. Her symptoms quickly worsened and she died in November 2017. She was 56.
