Ma Chunbo - 马春波
(Minghui.org) Mr. Ma Chunbo was a resident of Changchun City, Jilin Province. He was arrested in December 2000 for going to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong.
During his four months of detention at Songyuan Detention Center, guard Guo Wenbo beat him with broomsticks many times. Guo used such a force that he broke many broomsticks. Mr. Ma often had blood all over his face. His teeth became loose and all felt out in a short period of time. The dentention center didn't render him medical attention. Mr. Ma could only take liquid food for the rest of his life. The beatings also injured his eyes and he couldn't see well.
It was very cold in the winter, but Mr. Ma was forced to sleep on the cement floor without any bed covers. He lost feelings in his legs and had trouble walking. He also lost more than half of his body weight.
Mr. Ma was later given one year of forced labor, but the labor camp refused to take him, citing his high blood pressure and heart palpitation. The detention center forced his family to pay 3,000 yuan before releasing him.
Mr. Ma died on January 16, 2017.
