Case Description:

(Minghui.org) Ms. Zheng Yu was a technical school teacher in Fushun City, Liaoning Province before her retirement. She was arrested in Beijing on October 25, 1999 when she went there to appeal for Falun Gong. Two officers from Fushun took her back and kept her at a drug rehabilitation center until November 29, 1999. One officer pocketed the 1,100 yuan she had with her and never returned it.

Ms. Zheng and fifteen other practitioners were arrested on February 15, 2000 while reading Falun Gong books together. She wasn't released until May 16 that year.

Ms. Zheng's pension was suspended between October 1999 and July 2000. Her school later returned the money to her upon her request.

Ms. Zheng returned to her hometown in Chengde City, Hebei Province to visit her parents on March 7, 2001. A police director surnamed Liu in Fushun led five officers to follow her to Chengde. Together with their counterparts in Chengde, they ransacked the homes of Ms. Zheng's parents, two sisters, and two brothers and arrested them all. Ms. Zheng was at one of her brothers' home at the time of the home raid. Her brother refused to open the door to police, who climbed inside from a a third-floor window by scaling a fire truck ladder.

Ms. Zheng was brought to Fushun Labor Camp, which declined to take her due to her high blood pressure. The police kept her at her local street committee office for half a month. Her son was ordered to take her to a brainwashing center and stay there with her during the day and send her back to the office at night.

Ms. Zheng was home with her son, daughter-in-law, and grandson at home on January 15, 2002 when armed police officers broke in. Ms. Zheng firmly refused to be taken away and the police left three hours later.

Ms. Zheng was arrested on a bus on August 14, 2003 and sent to Fushun City Detention Center. Fifteen days later, she was given three years of forced labor. The now defunct Masanjia Labor Camp refused to take her due to her high blood pressure. The police tried a brainwashing center in Shuncheng District, which also declined to accept her. They managed to get another brainwashing center to detain her for more than twenty days. Ms. Zheng was forced to pay 3,000 yuan after she returned home.

Four people were sent to monitor Ms. Zheng prior to the 2018 Olympics.

When Ms. Zheng went to visit her parents in 2009, the police pried her door open twice when she was not home.

Ms. Zheng was home on the morning of April 8, 2009 when officer Jiao Chen and a few others broke in and confiscated her computer, printer, 1,400 yuan in cash and other valuables. She was taken to a brainwashing center. Jiao ransacked her home a few more times when no one was around. Ms. Zheng discovered later that three of her bankbooks were gone.

On April 28, 2009, Jiao and two other people came to the brainwashing center and demanded Ms. Zheng reveal the passwords for the bankbooks and give him 10,000 yuan. Ms. Zheng had no way but reveal one bankbook's password. Jiao immediately withdrew 10,000 yuan, and he didn't give Ms. Zheng any receipt. The bankbooks were returned to Ms. Zheng when she was released the next day.

Jiao and three other people broke in Ms. Zheng's home on June 8, 2009 and asked if she had disclosed what he did with her bankbooks.

Ms. Zheng died on April 7, 2017. She was 69.
