Guo Zhenbang - 郭振邦
(Minghui.org) Mr. Guo Zhenbang was an agronomist in Ning County, Gansu Province. He won many national-level scientific research awards and was a recipient of State Council Special Allowance. Despite his prominent career, he was plagued with various kinds of chronic diseases and nothing seemed to help.
Mr. Guo credited Falun Gong for returning him to health, but he was harassed more than a dozen times and had his home raided three times for upholding his faith.
Officers Liu Degui and Zhu Huaning raided his home days after the persecution of Falun Gong began in July 1999. They confiscated his Falun Gong books and materials.
In October 2005, Mr. Guo and his wife, also a Falun Gong practitioner, were arrested and had their home searched by officers Zhu Huaning and Hu Ningsheng. The police interrogated the couple for five straight hours and fined them 3,000 yuan before releasing them. Officer Hu only returned 2,700 yuan when Mr. Guo later asked for his money back.
Officer Jia Zhonghong and three others broke into Mr. Hu's home on July 17, 2013 and confiscated his Falun Gong books, computer, MP4 and other valuables. They gave him 15 days of administrative detention and ordered him to serve time at home due to his high blood pressure.
Mr. Guo was recovering from a surgery at home in May 2015 when the police broke in to force him to write a statement to renounce Falun Gong. His condition worsened and he almost died.
Officer Jia Zhonghong led people to harass Mr. Guo again on July 7, 2015. He went into shock and was rushed to a hospital.
In March 2016, the local street committee people, along with his apartment complex management, broke into Mr. Guo's home and tried to force him and his wife to renounce Falun Gong.
In 2017 alone, the police harassed Mr. Guo three times. He became weaker and had another surgery which cost him several hundreds of thousands of yuan.
The police returned to harass Mr. Guo in March 2018, causing his condition to further decline. He became bedridden and died at the end of October 2018.
