Ran Chongyang - 冉崇阳
(Minghui.org) Mr. Ran Chongyang was born in 1942 and lived in Yongqing Village, Xinglong Town, Yubei District, Chongqing. He never married and had no children. He was arrested in 2000 and given one year of forced labor, which was later extended by eight months. Not long after he was released, he was arrested again and given three years of forced labor.
He detailed his suffering in an article submitted to Minghui.org in 2004.
“While in detention, I did the Falun Gong exercises and also taught inmates to do the exercises. The cell head reported me and I was handcuffed and shackled for eight days, during which time I went on a hunger strike in protest. The guards later forced me to run laps and also used brooms to beat me.”
Mr. Ran was arrested a few more times in recent years, on May 23, 2011, June 25, 2014, and June 26, 2014, respectively. He was held in a brainwashing center for one month after his June 26 arrest.
More than two dozens of officers showed up at a residential building on the early orning of August 8, 2017 to arrest practitioners living there. Mr. Ran happened to pass by and was also arrested. The police ransacked his home and attempted to take him to the local police station. He firmly refused and they released him.
Three local government employees showed up at Mr. Ran's home on September 26, 2018 to harass him. They searched everywhere and confiscated his Falun Gong materials. They threatened to return with police officers.
Mr. Ran died on February 22, 2019, at the age of 77.
