Wang Bangji - 王邦基
(Minghui.org) A resident of Tongshan County, Hubei Province died one year after he was released from prison in serious condition. He was 71.
Mr. Wang Bangji was arrested on July 21, 2015 and sentenced in January 2016 by the Tongshan County Court to three years in Fanjiatai Prison for filing a criminal complaint against Jiang Zemin, the former head of the Chinese communist regime who ordered the persecution of his faith, Falun Gong, in 1999.
In August 2018, towards the end of Mr. Wang's term, the prison authorities notified his nephew to take Mr. Wang, who is unmarried and has no children, home. The nephew arrived at the prison to see his uncle unresponsive and gasping for air.
While it's unknown what torture Mr. Wang may have been subjected to while held at Fanjiatai Prison, it has been reported by Minghui.org that savage beatings, freezing, hanging up, torture on the tiger bench, sleep deprivation and drug administration are common tortures applied to Falun Gong practitioners detained there.
After two weeks of intensive care, Mr. Wang's condition Improved slightly and he began to take in some food.
His nephew sent him to a nursing home, where he received around-the-clock care.
Mr. Wang's condition suddenly deteriorated in early September 2019. The local hospital refused to provide care when his nephew had him sent there. He passed away several hours later.
Mr. Wang endured nearly two decades of persecution for his faith. In addition to the recent imprisonment, he was held two years in Shayang Forced Labor Camp and was fired from his workplace, the Tongshan County Materials Control Office, in 2001.
