Yin Shuyun - 殷淑云
(Minghui.org) Ms. Yin Shuyun, born on July 21, 1954, was a resident of Changchun City, Jilin Province. She began practicing Falun Gong in 1995. After the persecution of Falun Gong began, she was arrested on January 1, 2000 while doing Falun Gong exercises on Wenhua Square. She wasn't released until 15 days later.
She went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong and was arrested in Tiananmen Square on March 6, 2000. Because she refused to disclose her name and address, the Beijing police beat her savagely and slammed her head against the wall. Her whole face was so swollen that she couldn't open her eyes. She was later taken back to Changchun and given one year of forced labor in Heizuizi Labor Camp.
The labor camp guards tried many times to get her to give up her belief in Falun Gong, but she held firm to her faith.
On May 28, 2000, the guards again held a meeting to denounce Falun Gong and pressure practitioners to give up their faith. Ms. Yin refused to say anything against Falun Gong. She kept her legs crossed and moved a bit to the back of the conference room. She then suddenly collapsed and died.
The guards sent her body to the provincial hospital, where the doctors said she died of brain hemorrhage.
