Falun Gong practitioner Cui Dezhen was beaten to death by local police on the night of December 28, 2001. Cui was approximately 30 years old and lived in Lushang Village, Laixi City. His body was found dumped in a creek alongside of the road with blackened hands and bloodstained face and head.
