Case Description:
Lian Shuyun was 37 years old. Because she went to appeal in Beijing, she was illegally detained in the No. 1 Detention Center in Fushun City, where police brutally tortured her. The authorities sent her to the Petroleum Hospital for emergency care when she was tortured to the edge of death. She passed away on March 17, 2002.
