Sha Naiyi - 沙乃意
(Minghui.org) At around 10:00 a.m. on July 13, 2007, Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Sha Naiyi was illegally arrested and taken from his workplace to the Liangjazi Town Police Station by two policemen who didn't provide any legal documents. Mr. Sha worked at the Honggang Oil Extraction Factory at Jilin Oilfield. Later that day, the police sent Sha to the National Security Team at the Da'an City Public Security Bureau. At about 2:00 p.m on July 14, 2007, Sha died while in police custody.
According to people familiar with this case, the National Security Team at the Da'an City Public Security Bureau was trying to extract a confession from Mr. Sha between the evening of July 13 and the following afternoon, but he did not cooperate. On July 14, sometime after 2:00 p.m., Sha Naiyi's wife Zhang Shuhua and an administrator from his workplace went to visit Mr. Sha at the Public Security Bureau, and after they parked the car in the courtyard Zhang waited in the car while the administrator negotiated the visit with the Public Security Bureau and the 610 Office officials. Zhang suddenly heard a loud thud. She then saw Sha's body lying on the ground facing up. His body had dropped from a third floor window.
The third floor window was fairly small, Sha was somewhat overweight, and there were several guards watching him, so it is inconceivable that Sha jumped from this window intentionally. Presumably the guards shoved Sha backwards out of the window, but the authorities concluded that "Sha Naiyi committed suicide by jumping from the building."
Mr. Sha Naiyi was sent to Da'an No. 3 Hospital (the hospital appointed by the Public Security Bureau) to be "rescued" after the fall. During the purported resuscitation, the medical personnel did not examine Sha's airway or administer oxygen. Also an IV was not administered, under the pretext that Sha's veins could not be located. The police and the doctor were seen winking at each other surreptitiously. After an hour of the so-called rescue efforts, Sha was declared dead. His corpse is now at the Da'an Funeral Home.
Mr. Sha's wife, daughter, and other family members tried in vain to take this murder case to court. When the family asked Sun Guishui, the Communist Party secretary at Sha's work, to investigate Sha Naiyi's death on behalf of the family, Sun denigrated Falun Gong and said, "Falun Gong practitioners' deaths are considered suicide. [Sha's death] is not our business. We can't give out pension money [for the deceased Sha] either. We have to be in line with our local government." Sha's workplace also refused to give his family the necessary documents. At a recent staff meeting, Sun even asked the staff members to not lament Sha's death. Sun said that Falun Gong practitioners pitted themselves against the Chinese Communist Party. Sun Guishui has been in charge of persecuting Falun Gong practitioners in this area since July 20, 1999. He looked at Falun Dafa with hatred and actively persecuted practitioners. He has sent many practitioners to brainwashing centers, detention centers and forced labor camps.
Mr. Sha's family went to the Da'an City Public Security Bureau, where they met with Deputy Director Chu Guojun. Chu is even more wicked than Sun. During the meeting he smacked the table, berated Falun Gong, insisted that Sha had "committed suicide," and said that the Public Security Bureau was not responsible.
On July 18, two police officers went to Mr. Sha's home and asked Zhang how many years Sha had practiced Falun Gong. Zhang said two or three years. The police then said, "Falun Gong is illegal. Since you didn't report him to us in these years, you harbored him, and so you should be arrested, too." The family is under great pressure from the police.
The family sued the Da'an Public Security Bureau, but the case was rejected. The Da'an Procuratorate refused to carry out its duty.
In China, Mr. Sha's family has nowhere to seek justice. They are determined however, to bring the evildoers to justice for Sha Naiyi's death.
We urge all kind-hearted people to help stop this brutal persecution on Falun Gong.
