Dafa practitioner Zhang Fangliang was a 47-year-old deputy head and a native of Guangshun Town, Rongchang County, Chongqing City, Sichuan Province. He was an honest and well-respected official. In October 2001, he was illegally arrested for distributing Falun Gong truth-clarifying literature and was tortured to death on July 9, 2002.
