Yan Suyun - 颜素云
Ms. Yan Suyun, in her 40's, a Falun Gong practitioner who lived on Shanxi Street, Sinanqiao, Xinhe Township, Wenling city, Zhejiang province, began to practice Falun Gong in 1998. She was afflicted with a malignant tumor (cancer). Her life threatening illness disappeared after she began practicing Falun Gong.
After the persecution of Falun Gong began, Ms. Yan Suyun publicly clarified the truth about the persecution. She was arrested and detained at a detention center in Wenling city. Police there strictly prohibited her from practicing Falun Gong and eventually her cancer symptoms returned. Although her physical condition continued to worsen, the authorities continued to detain her. Soon after her release from the detention center, she died from cancer. What an injustice!
Ms. Yan Suyun learned to practice Falun Gong in 1998. The doctors at the Hangzhou major hospitals had previously diagnosed her with cancer and determined that there was no cure. She was sent home from the hospital. After that she began practicing Falun Gong, and soon her cancer began to go into remission and she recovered completely. All her neighbors knew about this miracle.
Jiang's regime started its persecution of Falun Gong in July 20, 1999 and began defaming and targeting the spiritual practice aggressively using all means at the government's disposal. Nevertheless, Ms. Yan Suyun continued practicing Falun Gong. At the end of 1999, she and other practitioners held their group exercise and meditation outside at Xinheshan Park. At that time, the local authorities disrupted their practice. In January 2001, police arrested her while she was distributing materials explaining the facts about the persecution of Falun Gong and detained her at the Wenling city detention center. While in detention, the Police would not permit her to practice Falun Gong and very quickly her health condition began to deteriorate. One month later she was transferred to the Moganshan Women's Labor Camp in Deqin, Zhejiang province. Fearing her extremely weak physical condition, the labor camp refused to accept her as they did not want to be held responsible should she die while detained in the labor camp..
Despite this, the local police would not release her. She was held in the detention center for several more months without receiving any medical care. Finally, in the last stages of terminal cancer, she was sent to a hospital. However, it was too late, and Ms. Yan Suyun died as a result of the police cruel actions.
