Sanshui City Forced Labor Camp
Case Description:
Mr. Hong Haoyuan was 30 years old and an expert in mobile communication technology from the Chaozhou City Postal and Telecommunications Bureau in Guangdong Province. In May 2000, Hong was illegally detained in the Sanshui Forced Labor Camp for a two-year term. In the forced labor camp, he was confined inside a tiny, completely dark room, subjected to electric shocks and beaten, which led to severe internal injuries. After being released in April 2002, his injuries were too severe to recover from, and he passed away in February 2003.
