Case Description:
Ms. Li Shuping was a practitioner from Dafang Village, Liangzhongqiao Town, Changtu County, Liaoning Province. She was a 70-year-old retired teacher. In the spring of 2004, she went by bus to Changtu County to take care of some business. A person who actively participated in the persecution in her village reported her to the police from Liangzhongqiao Police Station. The police stopped the bus, arrested Li and took her to the police station. The perpetrators then ransacked Li's home and took away some Falun Dafa books and truth-clarifying materials.
Then, the police took Ms. Li Shuping to the Changtu County Detention Center, where she was detained. Because of the torture she suffered in the detention center, negatively affecting her physical and mental health, Ms. Li came down with a life threatening disease. The persecutors from the County State Security Group extorted 5,000 yuan from her family members before they released her. Shortly after she returned home, Ms. Li Shuping passed away.
