Case Description:

(Minghui.org) Ms. Li Weixian had lived alone since her husband passed away. Before learning Falun Gong, she had suffered from femoral head necrosis and could not walk or take care of herself, and relied on her daughter for her care.

Ms. Li started to practice Falun Gong in 1997. After practicing for a period of time, she became healthy and all her illnesses disappeared. She could walk and take care of herself, and she followed the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, to become a better person.

The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began persecuting Falun Gong on July 20, 1999. Ms. Li went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong in October 2000 at the age of 72. She was arrested at Tiananmen Square and was taken back to Suzhou by officers from the Suzhou Police Department. Ye Chengliang, chief of the Political Security Division of Canglang District Police Department, and Shan Chenyi, from Canglang 610 Office, sent Ms. Li to the Suzhou Detention Center, where she suffered from mistreatment and was detained for 40 days.

In June 2003, when Ms. Li was 75 years old, she was taken to the Shangfangshan Brainwashing Center by chief Zhou Xueliang and Shan Chenyi, from the Canglang 610 Office. Her blood pressure rose quickly after just four days of mistreatment. The brainwashing center authorities didn't want to be held responsible if she died and sent her back home. Ms. Li's blood pressure continued at a high level. She was swollen all over and had difficulty breathing. Her family had to take her to the hospital. She was hospitalized for a while and went back home. She continued practicing Falun Gong and gradually recovered.

In May 2004, Liu Jianhua from the Canglang District Domestic Security Team, ransacked Ms. Li's home. The police confiscated Dafa books and her address book. Ms. Li was terrified and was under pressure from the police and the community for a long time. It exceeded Ms. Li's limit of endurance. Her health started to deteriorate and Ms. Li passed away on June 1, 2007 at the age of 79.
