Ge Peijun - 葛培君
(Minghui.org) Mr. Ge Peijun, 76, of Miyun County in Beijing died on April 14, 2014, from systemic organ failure after years of being brutally persecuted at Qianjin Prison.
While he was detained in a forced labor camp in September 2002 to 2004, the security chief of the camp repeatedly harassed his wife. She passed away on February 28, 2004, as a result of being tormented.
Illegally Arrested during Olympic Games and Sentenced to Five Years in Qianjin Prison
Mr. Ge was reported for telling others the facts about Falun Gong and illegally arrested by the Miyun County police on May 25, 2008. He was sentenced to five years in prison and taken to Qianjin Prison where he was tortured. The mistreatment was so brutal that he was hospitalized.
Qianjin Prison used a set of torture methods on Falun Gong practitioners that included deprivation of sleep, food, use of the bathroom, and defamation of character. Deputy warden, Cao Lihua, told the guards and criminal inmates to use all means available to “transform” practitioners. Some of the methods included enticement with the promise of parole and inciting criminal inmates to torture the practitioners.
Practitioners were mainly detained in the No. 9, No. 10 and No. 11 Prison Districts. Many of the practitioners were shocked with electric batons. Some were shocked with multiple high-voltage electric batons simultaneously over many hours. Mr. Ge was detained in the No. 9 and No. 11 Districts.
After years of being brutally persecuted and injected with unknown drugs, Mr. Ge suffered systemic organ failure. He never fully recovered after his release on May 28, 2013.
Persecuted in Tuanhe Forced Labor Camp
Mr. Ge and his wife appealed to the government for the right to practice Falun Gong in 2000. They were arrested and detained for more than one month.
Mr. Ge was arrested and taken to the Miyun Detention Center in 2002. He was severely tortured and then released. His health had deteriorated and when people asked him what was wrong, Mr. Ge told them it was a result of the mistreatment he received in the detention center. For speaking out, he was arrested again by the police and sent to the Tuanhe Forced Labor Camp for two years. He was 64 at the time.
Mr. Ge was incarcerated in the No. 2 Division at the labor camp. Because he refused to write a so-called guarantee statement, he was forced to sit motionless for long periods of time every day starting in November 2003. Sitting for long hours in the cold during winter would be harsh for anyone. It was especially cruel for an elderly man like Mr. Ge, who had a problem with his leg.
Two criminal inmates constantly monitored Mr. Ge. They often shamelessly insulted him, or made things difficult for him, and they kicked him. The mistreatment and harassment caused him a great deal of physical and mental harm.
Mr. Ge was underfed. The prison provided only one piece of corn bread and a few pickles at each meal. After four days there was only corn bread. Like many practitioners, Mr. Ge was forced to eat the “specially-made' corn bread. It was set aside and served cold, dry and hard. He was unable to swallow the corn bread and went on a hunger strike to protest the ill treatment. The prison punished him for his resistance.
During the hunger strike, the monitoring team was increased to five people. They pressed his head down while dragging him to the infirmary for force-feedings. The feeding tube was deliberately slid back and forth while inserted in his nose and throat, which caused bleeding.

Torture Re-enactment: force -feeding
The Tuanhe Forced Labor Camp was notorious for the brutal persecution inflicted on practitioners held there. Its garden-like appearance could not conceal the atrocities committed within it's walls. The prison used every method to systematically brainwash the practitioners and force them to abandon their belief and sense of conscience.
Background
Mr. Ge was retired from the Beijing Machine Tool Research Institute. He was wounded in the Korean War and had a bad leg. When he and his wife started practicing Falun Gong in 1998, their health improved both physically and mentally.
