Zhang Shuxian - 张淑贤
(Minghui.org) Since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began persecuting Falun Gong in 1999, illegal arrests have become commonplace, and illegally detained practitioners are sometimes even murdered while in custody.

Ms. Zhang Shuxian
Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhang Shuxian, from Tumen City, Jilin Province, went missing on August 7, 2014, after she took the bus from Qushuicaidui, where she lived, to downtown at around 2:00 p.m. Her family learned that she had been illegally arrested, reportedly by officers from the Tumen City Domestic Security Division, but they had no other information about the arrest or her whereabouts.
Officers from the Yuegong Street Police Station went to Ms. Zhang's home at around 2:00 p.m. the next day, and told her husband to go to the Yuegong Street Police Station. From the station, he was taken to the Tumen City Police Department to meet with the supervisor.
The supervisor took Ms. Zhang's husband to the city hospital and told him that Ms. Zhang had suffered a heart attack and was in emergency care. According to her husband, Ms. Zhang had no previous heart condition.
When Ms. Zhang's husband saw her at the hospital, she was lying in a hospital bed, connected to an IV with fluids. However, her body was cold, and she showed no signs of life. She had dark bruises and wounds all over her chest, abdomen, and legs. Ms. Zhang had died within 24 hours, in police custody, at the age of 53.
Ms. Zhang's husband was shocked and angered by the sight of his wife—she was a perfectly healthy person the day before her disappearance. When the family went to the city police department to get information about their loved one's death, the police provided no information, saying that they would rather “keep it private.”
Ms. Zhang's body has been transferred to the Tumen City Funeral Home.
