Case Description:
(Minghui.org) In July 2000, Mr. Yan, his mother, his elder sister, and 8-month-old nephew went to Beijing to appeal for the right to practice Falun Gong. As they refused to report their names and addresses, the whole family were sent to Shahe Shelter where they were subjected to inhumane conditions. Mr. Yan was eventually persecuted to death after he was sent to a mental hospital in December 2000.
Minghui.org has previously reported on the incident of an elderly person and baby being abused at the shelter. According to practitioners who were released, the elderly person seems to be referring to Mr. Yan's mother and the baby was referring to his nephew.
