Duowei news reported that recently,the Changchun Police department fired the officer in charge of householdregistration, Mr. Chang-xue Wang, for handling the correction of the wrongrecord of the birth date of the founder of Falun Gong several years ago.It was said that another 21 officers were also punished.
Note from Editor: Master Li's birthdate had been wrongly recorded by the government (such mistakes were quitecommon during the chaotic "culture revolution"). Later, it was correctedto the true date of birth.
2. FakedArticle "Three Statements of Mine" Came out

A faked article in the name of MasterLi with the title "Three Statements of Mine" came out on January 21, 2000.This article contained statements like "you can just practice at home ifpossible", "some practitioners are jumping into the trap of the Chinesegovernment by going to Beijing to protect Falun Dafa and to appeal in group"and "If you are a genuine practitioner, you should not go to Beijing anymore"etc. This article attempted to confuse and mislead people and sabotagepractitioners' cultivation process and their protection of Falun Dafa.

3. An Anecdoteafter the Morning Group Practice of Falun Gong Exercises
At 6am of January 26, 2000, 3 localpractitioners and 6 practitioners from outside Beijing practiced FalunGong exercises together in a park. Right after we finished the practice,two police officers came over and yelled at us, "Come over! Come Over!You all come back!" At that time, two local practitioners had already left.A practitioner from Australia and I then walked towards the police officers.The other four practitioners tried to ignore the two police officers. However,these two police officers intercepted them and took them away. The twoof us then left.
Those practitioners who were takenaway are being detained in the Xi-cheng Detention center. Despite of brutaltortures, they refused to tell the police officers where they came from.A practitioner from Australia was taken to the third floor in a building.She thought, "I still have something else to do; Master, I want to leavehere." Then, she jumped out of the window onto an iron wire net on thesecond floor, and jumped to the ground afterwards. She was all right. Althoughthere were police officers guarding the door, she went away nobly.
Since January 13, over twenty practitionershave started to practice Falun Gong exercises at that park. On the firstday, most of them were local practitioners in Beijing. Afterwards, practitionersfrom outside Beijing have also joined the group practice at that park.The group practice of exercises has resumed in many places of Beijing.
4. We HeldUp A Dozen of Falun Dafa Banners on the Tiananmen Square
On January 28, we over 50 practitionersfrom provinces of Gan-su, Jiang-shu, Shan-dong, and An-hui etc held upbanners reading, "Falun Dafa", "Falun Rotates Forever", and "Zhen-Shan-Ren(Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance)" etc in front of the national flagon the Tiananmen Square. Today, about a dozen of banners were held up.Even the police officers guarding the flag rushed over to seize our banners.A western practitioner also held up a banner.
I felt very calm when I arrived atthe Tiananmen Square. However, I started to have a little bit of fear afterwe unfolded the banners and saw practitioners from Nan-jing City, Jiang-suprovince were taken away by the police. I became calm again very soon.I felt the power of Falun Dafa.
The police officers walked furtherand further away from us. It suddenly appeared a piece of land in frontof me. Another fellow practitioner and I then unfolded a banner. Afterabout ten seconds, the police officers rushed over and seized our bannerand also ordered us to go with them.
Meanwhile, practitioners around usstarted to unfold Falun Dafa banners one after another. It seemed thatall the people around us were Falun Gong practitioners. Later we walkedaway nobly.
5. PractitionerSentenced to One Year of Forced Labor for Joining Group Practice
Practitioner from An-hui-li of Chao-yangDistrict of Beijing, Wang Rui-rong, was sentenced to one year of forcedlabor "education" for joining the group practice of Falun Gong exercisesat Asian Sports Village on December 12.
6. IgnorantPolice Officers Harmed Himself and Others
On January 17, a local practitionerin her 60s was arrested while passing by the Tiananmen Square. The followingwas what she saw in the Tiananmen Square Police Station.
On that day, three women who workedin Beijing for temporary employment came to visit Tiananmen Square beforereturning home for Chinese new-year. The police suspected that they wereFalun Dafa practitioners and took them to the Tiananmen Square Police Station.These three women tried very hard to argue that they were not practitioners.The police then ordered them to tear apart 3 copies of "Zhuan Falun" theyseized from our fellow practitioners. These three ignorant people thentore these precious books apart. Convinced that they were indeednot practitioners, police then released them.
