[Minghui] A report from the BBC Chinese Net on November 30, 2000:
Mr. Gaide, a left-wing leader of the German Liberty Democratic Party, is the former secretary of German Internal Affairs and former German ambassador to the International Human Rights Group in Geneva. In an interview with a BBC reporter, Mr. Gaide specifically gave the example of China's persecution of Falun Gong when he talked about the issue of democratic countries, and he pointed out: the ban of Falun Gong by Chinese leaders has nothing to do with the religious beliefs, nor is it meant to protect Chinese citizens from being exposed to the so-called "xx". According to Mr. Gaide, the only reason that China cracks down on Falun Gong is that it wants to retain its power.
