The Exposure of Persecution at the Wangchun Labor Camp in Zibo City, Shandong Province

Dec. 10, 2000 |   Practitioners in China

On September 20, 2000, the Wangchun Labor camp alerted military forces because practitioners demanded their freedom to practice and study Falun Dafa. Fifty-one practitioners began hunger strikes. On the night of September 22, policemen in the labor camp electrically shocked 35 practitioners who refused to sign the assurance letter (vowing to stop the exercise and class). They used as many as ten electron batons. Practitioner Ma Jialin from Jinan was electrically shocked for the whole day; however, he was not moved by the cruel persecution. After he became unconscious, he was sent to the hospital.

There were more than 10 practitioners who were separated and watched closely. Zibo practitioner Ren Jun was tied to a chair in a cross position for 18 days. Duan Runlai, professor of Yantai University, continued on a hunger strike. Around October 14, they tried to insert the tube in order to feed Duan Runlai and also attempted intravenous feeding but failed. They injured his stomach seriously when they forced the tube inside his body. He was sent to the emergency room and the result of this situation remains unknown. Duan Renlai and Yun Liang from Weifang have suffered cruel persecution inside the labor camp. They were tied to an iron door for 3 days and nights. They were electrically shocked at least 3 times by their abusers, each time for the duration of a few hours while using eight to nine electron batons. The two practitioners did not complain and refused to sign the assurance letter.

There are 200 Falun Dafa practitioners who are locked up in Wangchun Labor Camp. The number increases daily. Presently, they are trying to expand this labor camp to detain more Falun Gong practitioners. We sincerely hope that all kindhearted people condemn the Chinese Government to stop the labor camp from persecuting Falun Gong practitioners.
