[Minghui Net] Since October 1st, 2000, more than 70 practitioners in Jiaozhou (city) have been detained. During that time, Zhangjiatun town police arrested some practitioners for the third time and detained them in so-called "reeducation classes." These kinds of "reeducation classes" were under the supervision of the Jiaozhou Political and Legal Committee. Police, procuratorial and legal departments also became involved. Supervisors from these departments attended the "reeducation classes" and personally attempted to "transform" Falun Gong practitioners. Also during this time, the government offices and police stations of other towns and counties jailed many practitioners. In all, more than 50 practitioners have been arrested or detained. These evil people punched, kicked and electrically shocked practitioners. They didn't allow practitioners to sleep for several days.
Some police stations had beaten practitioners severely and they had to send practitioners to hospitals for treatments because they were afraid that practitioners might die from the beatings. Gao Siyun and Song Yuling who were detained in Nanguan police station were among such practitioners. The Zhang Yin town police shocked practitioners with electric batons until their arms became black and swollen. They also forced practitioners to take off all their clothes and sleep in water. Then they used electric batons to hit practitioners' backs. Some police stations cuffed practitioners' hands to the heating pipe that is 7 feet high. Practitioners had to stand on their tiptoes. The Tuchun Village police even removed three toenails of a practitioner, then soaked his feet in salt water. Such great pain caused the practitioner to lose consciousness. There are so many acts of brutality to list them all.
After October 1st, 2000, 15 practitioners in Jiaozhou City were sent to labor camps. But their families didn't receive notification from the government. Their whereabouts are still unknown. They are: Liang Xisheng, Zhou Ruiling, Liu Xuewei, Jiang Wangqing, Chen Ruier, Du Xide, Wang Huifu, Mao Mingzhao, Di Xinming, He Shuqin, Kuang Bencui, Liu shuying, Zhuang zejie, Zhuang zeping, and Ji Jun.
Ji Jun is from Weifang of Shangdong Province. Because he supported and helped his parents traveling to Beijing to appeal, the Jiaozhou police arrested him and detained him in Jiaozhou.
In late October, a Jiaozhou practitioner Ye Fujing was charged with criminal detention in Huangdao of Shangdong Province. Pan Shiquan, Geng yemin, Zhao Yangfa were detained in Jiaozhou detention center.
On December 6th, Song Jianxin, the Editor-in-Chief of Jiaozhou Radio & TV Bureau, was sent to mental hospital for "treatment" because he appealed in Beijing.

Encounters of Practitioners from Zhangbei County
Two women over 40 from North Zhangbei County, Zhang Fengying and Wang uemei, appealed to the local government by stating that Falun Gong is a righteous teaching, not a XX. They hoped that the local government would report that to the central government. They asked for the legal right to practice Falun Gong. Then they were detained just for speaking a few sincere sentences. The county and city where they live tried twice to send them to a labor camp but failed. However they were detained for 6 months because the Secretary of the Political and Legal Department did not want to release them. In the detention center, the guards forced them to swear at Master Li and Dafa. If they refused they would be handcuffed and shackled and shocked with electric batons. The guards raised the electric batons and said, "what are human rights, these are human rights!"
Zhang Fengying's hands were cuffed behind her back for 17 consecutive days. This broke the record of the detention center. Wang Yuemei's mother, who is over 70 years old, heard the head of the detention center and some leaders of the county government say, "If Wang Yuemei doesn't change her mind, she will be sent to a labor camp." The mother was nervous and scared. After she went home, a CT test showed that a blood vessel in her kidney was broken, necessitating an operation. Because there was nobody to take care of the elder and the kids at home, Wang Yuemei requested to be released. Her request was denied so she went on a fast. Finally, she was force-fed. Due to digestive difficulties the force-feeding was changed to forced-infusion. After she received an infusion, water blisters appeared on her skin. She was not ill, but after she was persecuted she appeared to be sick. Then she was released. Prior to her release, the government tried to extort money from her family, but her family was too poor to pay it. After her family went to a great deal of difficulty borrowing the money and giving it to the government, they still delayed her release for six days.
Though these 2 practitioners suffered a lot for as long as 6 months, they didn't complain. They always forgave those people who treated them badly. They genuinely manifested great compassion and tolerance.
Mr. Shi Jujun, a practitioner from Dahe Village, Zhangbei County, was beaten to lose consciousness by guards because he read Zhuan Falun in the detention center. A large area of his scalp was damaged and he lost a lot of hair.
Ms. Hao Guimei and Ms. Zhang Yulan, who went to Beijing to appeal in this June, are still in detention.
A woman over 60, Zhao Wenlan, was detained for more than six months because she appealed to the government. Her face was swollen and bleeding after being struck by electric batons. Police tried to force her to write a letter renouncing her practice of Falun Gong. But she refused to give in. She was released this September. Despite many injuries, her mental outlook is very good.
