[Beijing] People's Representatives Could Not Hear the Voice of People
On the evening of March 4, the police "picked up" some practitioners in the Er-li-zhuang district and asked them whether they would go to appeal to National People's Congress (NPC).
On the morning of March 6, some practitioners from Xin-jie-kou district were intercepted by the police in the subway when they were attempting to appeal to the NPC. They were immediately sent to the police station after they were found to be Falun Gong practitioners. On March 7, their workplaces received notice that they would be released after the NPC session is concluded.
[Ji-lin] Persecution in Liao-yuan City
In order to prevent Falun Gong practitioners from appealing to the authorities during the "Two Sessions", the authorities of Liao-yuan city illegally detained and beaten up local practitioners.
Jiang Guang, an employee of the State Tax Bureau, got arrested. His wife was given a sentence of one-year forced-labor "education".
Liang Yu-jie, female, a former employer of a bank, was also given a sentence of one-year forced-labor "education" for having gone to Beijing to appeal in last December.
Two other female practitioners, one of them was a teacher of the first middle school of Liao-yuan City, will be sent to labor camps for refusing to pledge that they would not appeal for Falun Gong and would not practice Falun Gong in public areas.
About 60 practitioners are detained together with convicted criminals in the detention center. They usually have to work from 6am in the morning up to 3am in the next morning. They would be punished if they could not finish their workload. The cell is so crowded that they can hardly find a comfortable place to sleep.
The police beat them at will in order to force them not to appeal for Falun Gong and not to practice Falun Gong in public areas. Some female practitioners were beaten up with trousers taken off. The police would order the criminals to beat them after they got tired. The criminals would be punished if they did not try their best to beat practitioners. Some practitioners got beaten up several nights on a row. A practitioner could not walk normally after being beaten up.
A police officer said that her bonus was suspended and her salary was reduced although she had been treating practitioners badly. A practitioner then gave her 50-Yuan, which was all the money the practitioner has. This police officer felt shamed and no longer beat the practitioner.
