Thoughts on the Visit of a Few So-Called Religious Leaders from Mainland China to U.S.

A few so-called religious leaders from Mainland China are carrying out a series of activities during their visit in U.S.á What is incredible is that this group always makes false statements, especially on Falun Gong incident. á People cant help thinking that they seem to be another anti-Falun Gong propaganda machine of the Chinese government. Moreover, the propaganda machine this time is no longer the governments news media but the politicians under the disguise of "religious leaders".

Whenever this group meets with overseas Chinese communities or religious representatives in the U.S., they never forget to mention the horrible story of 1,400 deaths fabricated by the Chinese government. However, they never mention how the Chinese government treated the larger number of Falun Gong practitioners who made peaceful appeals in the past year. áFrom July of last year up to today, there have been more than forty innocent Falun Gong practitioners tortured to death.á A human rights organization estimates that there are five thousand Falun Gong practitioners who have been sent to labor camps without trial. Another, even more inhuman act of the Chinese government is to send Falun Gong practitioners to mental hospitals for forced injections which badly damage their nerve system.

According to a report from China's official newspaper, People's Daily, the leader of a religion from Mainland China said to the audience in Los Angeles that the religions in the Mainland China were entering a "golden age".á However, what the world has seen is the Chinese governments brutal denial of people's freedom of belief and basic living rights. One of the well-known facts is the horrendous persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. áFalun Gong practitioners never involve themselves in politics in any way. They live peacefully and emphasize kindness under all circumstances. Their peaceful appeals in China were merely the exercise of citizens' rights granted by the constitution.á How could the Chinese government suppress such a peaceful group using the power of the entire nation? This is really incomprehensible to people overseas who live in a free world.

Recently, there was a report on the Internet indicating that in reviewing history, it has been found that whenever the Chinese government was planning a mass killing, they would launch massive amounts of propaganda to rationalize and support its action.á On August 13 and 14, 2000, CCTV [Chinese Central Television, the mouthpiece of the Chinese government] broadcasted a live scene of the military police in the Philippines killing their citizens including women, children and seniors. á The interpretation by CCTV was that those people were "evil religion followers".á It seems that once the government decides that you are an "evil cult" or a "follower of an evil religion", they feel justified in killing you at will. á Those bloody scenes that are not even suitable for adults were aired repeatedly on CCTV.á This reminded people that on August 21, the Chinese Ministry of Public Security held a politics and law conference, intending to execute certain Falun Gong practitioners to serve the goal of "threatening a large number by killing a few" around the Chinese National Day [October 1, 2000].

An orthodox religion always teaches people to be compassionate. In the history of mankind, when an orthodox religion reached its golden era of prosperity, peoples mind and conduct were upright, and the economy was flourishing. The society was peaceful and stable, and the moral standard was high. What we saw from these religious leaders were merely the tricks of politicians and the illegitimate defense of brutal power.á We did not see any sign of morality on them at all.

When a person in power uses every available means (including in a holy name) to seek his or her own benefits and play politics in order to maintain his or her own power, he or she will trigger the wrath of heaven. When even this conduct cannot be condemned or abandoned in the human world, people will no doubt be in danger.
