The Great Cultural Revolution and Falun Gong: a Comparison

Jan. 19, 2001

In the latter half of the 20th century, two earthshaking events occurred in China, which is a beautiful and richly endowed yet suffering nation. One is the Great Cultural Revolution launched in June 1966; and the other one started in July 1999 and continues to this day - the suppression of Falun Gong.

At first glance, one might think that these two events are totally unrelated to each other, but at second thought, one could be shocked by their similarities. Let's compare the following facts.

No.

Subject to be Compared

Cultural

Revolution

Suppression of Falun Gong

Memo

1

Instigated by

The former Communist Party Chairman

The current President Jiang Zemin

2

Against

The former Chairman

Liu Shaoqi

The founder of Falun Gong and millions of Falun Gong practitioners

3

Methods Used to Launch the Movement

  1. Sending his poster to the Central Party Committee
  2. Everyone everywhere being forced to make a statement of loyalty to the Chairman X
  3. The People's Daily carrying a large amount of articles employing slanderous and fabricated material against Liu Shaoqi
  1. Personally writing a letter to Politics Bureau members
  1. Everyone everywhere being forced to make a statement of 'following' the President firmly
  1. The People's Daily carrying large amount of articles of the same type; using slandering and fabricated materials against the founder of Falun Gong

In both instances,

all across the nation, people are not allowed to have an opinion varying from that which has been dictated by the instigator

4

Gradually Intensifying the Accusations

(In reference to Liu Shaoqi):

From

Bourgeois style to

"Taking the road of capitalism" to

"Traitor, spy and enemy"

(Privately predefining Falun Gong as a reactionary organization and a '[slander omitted]')

From

"Pseudo-science" to

an "Illegal organization" to a

'[slander omitted]', to a "Reactionary organization"

First denounced and convicted of a 'crime' followed by persecution

5

Other

Methods Used to Carry on the Movement

  1. Inciting the public to struggle against each other; resulting in nation-wide violence which was then glossed-over and idealized as 'red terror'
  2. Holding 'Mao Zedong Ideology Workshops' nation-wide. This in fact involved setting up illegal courts and extorting confessions by torture; countless people were persecuted to death
  1. Instigating the public and the policemen to spy on and follow Falun Gong practitioners; many practitioners detained, arrested and even given prison sentences ; the whole nation in a panic
  2. Holding 'Transformation Workshops' nation-wide; This is in fact the setting up of illegal courts and extorting confessions by cruel torture and attempting to force practitioners to change their viewpoints. As of early January 2001, over 100 practitioners had been tortured to death; over 50000 have been illegally detained; more than 10000 have been sent to labor camps; over 600 were sent to mental hospitals and given nerve-damaging injections; 150 were sentenced to prison (one with a term of 18 years). The situation is worsening.

Encouraging local governments and police stations to torture Falun Gong practitioners by assuring them in internal memos that they would not be held responsible nor investigated in the event that they killed Falun Gong practitioners.

6

Trampling on the Constitution;

Ruling by Power instead of by Law

  1. XXX's poster overthrew the Chairman (elected by the People's Congress) and had the Chairman sentenced to death (first overthrowing and then later fabricating evidence against him)
  2. A swelling tide of illegal accusations and denunciations of people that 'take the capitalist road' spread across the whole nation
  3. Jiang Qing said "We abide by no laws." when she talked to the 'red guards'
  1. Jiang Zemin labelled Falun Gong as '[slander omitted]' and launched the crackdown before the verdict of '[slander omitted]' was ever legally proven. (Labeling it first, then later fabricating evidence against it)
  2. A large wave of illegal detentions, arrests and torture of practitioners
  3. Jiang Zemin said "I don't believe X Party will ever lose the game to Falun Gong!"

7

Twisted Souls and Decayed Morality

  1. Inhumane persecution and torture used on 'targets' to get confessions; persecutors had no human nature
  2. The whole nation's spirit desensitized and numb
  1. Torturing practitioners with over 40 different brutal devices; persecutors have utterly lost their conscience
  2. Twisting the whole nations' spirit into untruthfulness, wickedness and brutality

8

The Real Reason

Authority without supervision will result in corruption.

Authority without supervision will result in corruption. Moral degradation will put the whole nation in danger.

9

An Essential Difference

The cultural revolution was a fight among the top officers of the Party

  1. Jiang Zemin, the usurper of state power, takes all others who are capable and popular as threats to his power and position.
  2. Jiang Zemin was reincarnated from a low-level spirit. He was born a jealous, incapable person with decayed morality and instinctively hates 'Truthfulness, Benevolence and Forbearance', the righteous, and the kind

10

The Same Result

Being an injust cause, the Cultural Revolution lasted 10 years and the economy almost crashed. It is a shameful memory for human civilization.

These days: Jiang Zemin has launched a bloody crackdown on millions of kind-hearted Falun Gong practitioners and spent a huge amount of money, and endlessly wasted manpower and resources. He will be soon punished by law.

In the future: Jiang Zemin has violated the will of Gods. His body and spirit will be destroyed by harsh punishment at each level of Hell.

Chinese people still recall the many political movements (The 'Against Hu Feng Campaign', the 'Anti-Rightist Campaign' and the Cultural Revolution etc.) that have taken place in this beautiful country. Each movement has brought countless sufferings to kind-hearted Chinese people. People with conscience don't like to see these kinds of movements repeating themselves. Everybody wants to live a happy life and to be ruled by law. But without considering the future of the nation or the people, Jiang Zemin started a 'Cultural Revolution-type' bloody crackdown because of his evil character and of his fear and hatred towards the great Buddha Law (Truthfulness, Benevolence and Forbearance). The indignation and discontent among the people is now widespread, and Jiang has committed countless crimes in this process.

Falun Dafa (Falun Gong) is a high-level cultivation way of the Buddha School. The practitioners all take the characteristic of the universe (Truthfulness, Benevolence and Forbearance) as the highest cultivation principle; they all take fame and material gain lightly and have no interest in political power. They will never get involved in political struggles. Good or bad deeds shall be rewarded with the same. It is the unchangeable law in the universe that controls all living beings. We disclose Jiang Zemin's evil deeds because of his unpardonable wickedness. He no longer has any place in the great sacred universe. His body and spirit will be destroyed by harsh punishment at each level of Hell.

For those people who serve as his henchmen and those cruel officers, you carry a mountain of blood debts. To stop committing your crimes is your only way out in mitigating the punishments you will receive. Just remember: the final wail of the once mighty Jiang Qing before she died in prison miserably was, "I am simply a running dog of others!" That is a vivid example of the Universe's Law, which you don't want to believe in, that good or bad deeds shall be rewarded with the same.

The changes of society are pre-destined and practitioners thus don't bother to interfere in them. However, disclosing Jiang Zemin is done in order to give the chance to those who still have kind hearts to distinguish benevolence from wickedness, and the righteous from the evil. Please, choose a bright future for yourself.
