The Practitioners in the Greater New York Area Wish a Happy Chinese New Year to Chinese People All Over the World and Call Upon the Chinese Government to Stop the Illegal Persecution of Falun Gong

On January, 23^rd, the eve of Chinese New Year, more than 100 Falun Dafa practitioners from the New York and New Jersey braved the cold to gather in front of the Chinese consulate in New York to wish all Chinese people around the world a happy new year as well as to call upon the Chinese government to stop its illegal persecution of Falun Gong.

Chinese New Year, also known as the Spring Holiday is a time to celebrate new beginnings. It is also a time when families to come together, much like Christmastime in the West. But Jiang Zemin is again rounding up masses of Falun Gong practitioners, and thousands of homes have been broken, and loved ones are lost.

We are all disciples of Dafa, and even though we are separated by thousands of miles and vast oceans, we are all cultivating Truthfulness, Benevolence, Forbearance. As such, our hearts are tightly linked. With tens of millions of people facing the loss of their freedoms and when at least 131 practitioners persecuted to death, how can we just hide indoors and enjoy the warmth and comfort of our own individual families? How can we just stand aside and watch unmoved when evil attempts to damage what is good and innocent?

Many passersby expressed sympathy and support for the practitioners in China after they heard about terrible situation there. One African American man even came back later with his child bearing hot coffee and tea for us on this chilly night.

Winter will soon pass, spring will return to the land, and the truth will become ever clearer and clearer. Let us do even better during the final moments of Fa rectification and eradicate the evil as soon as possible.

Washington D.C.:

The Washington D.C. practitioners created a video greeting card wishing Master a Happy New Year. It shows footage of practitioners in China raising banners in Tiananmen Square, pictures of Master at conferences, and pictures of practice sites all over the world. The video ends with this picture (below) of the D.C. practitioners holding a big red banner with gold lettering saying "Greetings Master Li!" in both Chinese and English, with the Capitol building in the background, blue skies, and a sprinkling of snow on the ground.

[Clearwisdom.net] Early in the morning of January 21, with the advent of the Chinese traditional Spring Festival, 50 to 60 US Falun Gong practitioners from the greater DC area gathered in a meadow near Capitol Hill to express their respect for their Teacher. It was interesting to note that although it had been snowing and raining the day before, it was sunny on this day and the ground was covered with shining snow.

Among the banners displayed, the most eye-catching was a big one with both Chinese and English characters reading, "Wish you well, Teacher!" It spoke for all Dafa practitioners in the Washington DC area. Designed by a Falun Dafa couple and a number of female practitioners, the banner had been made overnight by hand. As practitioners all know, Teacher exhausts all that he has for us, and we can never pay back all that he gives us. At the same time, we may not understand all that Teacher has done for us. In return, Teacher wants nothing but our sincere hearts for Dafa. Now, at the turn of the century, when the evil forces will soon be purged and the bright light will shine, all that we wish to say can be condensed into one sentence: "We are thinking of you, Teacher, and we sincerely wish you well!"

At the same time, we are also thinking of the many admirable and respected practitioners in China who are being inhumanely tortured. Although we are thousands of miles away, we are actually one entity, whether we are at home or abroad. We are all disciples of the Teacher and particles of Dafa. At a time when families traditionally get together for a reunion, thousands of Falun Dafa practitioners in China have been forcibly separated from their families and relatives and are not able to go home. History has shown that good will eventually defeat evil, and we look forward to experiencing that moment when "The great disclosure of the truth will leave the world in amazement." Taiwan:

The Taiwan practitioners have prepared a poem entitled: "Chinese New Year's Eve: The Dafa Disciples of Taiwan and their Fellow Practitioners in China Encourage Each Other." The poem talks about how the dark clouds covered the sun in the summer of ྟ and how the destruction and lies blanketed the earth and how practitioners endure the suffering day by day, steadfast in the Fa. It expresses admiration for fellow practitioners in China, ending by saying that the new dawn will chase the dark night away and the light will shine on the great land.

Beijing:

Beijing practitioners wrote the Teacher a letter thanking him for bringing Falun Dafa to humans. Teacher's tremendous compassion brings hope to life and guides beings in the universe to new lives. Practitioners now have a deeper understanding of compassion, especially of its relevance in today's situation. They pledged to tell the truth to more people, and help more people obtain the Fa.

Worldwide:

Practitioners from Daqing, Yunnan, Zhejiang, and Shandong in Mainland China, as well as practitioners from Toronto, Canada and Singapore wished the Teacher a Happy New Year. They expressed their gratitude to the Teacher, and thanked all kind-hearted people in the world for supporting Falun Gong. Practitioners from Yunnan wrote a poem about their firm faith in Dafa, and their belief that the evil will be swept away soon like autumn leaves. A new practitioner from Mainland China promised to step forward to safeguard the Fa in the New Year.

Australian practitioners made a red sign with golden characters saying "Hello Teacher!" At such a festive time, practitioners in Australia are thinking about the Teacher. They wished the Teacher a Happy New Year, and pledged to make their best effort to clarify the truth and promote Dafa.

Master's hometown, Changchun:

Practitioners from Teacher's hometown wished the Teacher a Happy New Year. Many of them went to Beijing to appeal and tell the truth numerous times, and were tortured in inhumane ways. Despite these difficulties, they remained firm in their beliefs. They pledged to double their efforts to cultivate their hearts. In addition, they expressed their regret that some of them did not keep up with the Fa rectification process, and did not eliminate their attachments fast enough. They strongly believe that the day will not be far when the entire universe sees the truth.

Hubei practitioners wrote a poem expressing their gratitude to the Teacher and how happy they are to have the predestined relationship to attain the Fa. "Don't worry Teacher, no matter how long, we'll always 'help the Teacher in worldly affairs' and 'rectify the Fa, spread the Fa, and clarify the truth.'" They wished the Teacher a Happy New Year and said, "we know, wherever you are, all of us Dafa disciples' hearts will forever be with you!"

Guangzhou practitioners wish the Teacher and all Falun Dafa practitioners inside and outside of China a Happy New Year. "The disciples are determined to go with the Teacher all the way to the end. Please don't worry Teacher, we'll take every step well in this human world." Guangzhou practitioners also stated to evil outside and inside the human realm: "The hearts of Dafa disciples will forever be with the Teacher, no power will ever be able to make us leave the Teacher and Dafa!"

All practitioners in Japan wish the Teacher a Happy New Year. They could find no human words to express their gratitude to the Teacher, and promised to improve the cultivation of their hearts to thank the Teacher.

They also paid tribute to Dafa disciples in Mainland China. Their selflessness and determination to safeguard the truth is highly regarded.

They wish a Happy New Year to all practitioners outside of China, who are devoting themselves to telling the truth to the world.

Lastly, they wished everyone in the world who has heard of Falun Gong a Happy New Year. Practitioners hope all can wake up to the truth and help practitioners in China whose basic human rights are being violated. Practitioners also hope that these people can open their hearts and learn the practice one day to share the joy of cultivation.

All Falun Dafa practitioners in the Southern region of the United States send our greetings to our benevolent and great Master Li for the Spring Festival. Even with the most sacred words in the world, we could not express our veneration for Master Li's giving and sacrificing for all living beings in the universe. Even with the most beautiful words in the world, we could not fully express our love for Falun Dafa, taught to us by Master Li. All we can do is do better in rectifying the Fa and exposing the evil, and thereby not disappoint Master Li's hopes for us.
