One night I went by motorcycle with a fellow practitioner to paste up materials clarifying the truth about the persecution of Falun Dafa on city lampposts. At a T-intersection, a car approached with its headlight focused on the flyer I was pasting up. The light was so bright I had to close my eyes. For a moment I was nervous but then I had the thought that what we were doing was righteous so we should not fear anything. As the car stopped, two men stepped out and one began questioning me. I said that I was posting information about Falun Gong. I calmly and truthfully answered when he asked where I came from and then immediately his voice softened with the remark, "I support Falun Gong." He continued, "You guys need to take action instead of merely revealing the truth of what's going on." I told them we always behave righteously according to "Benevolence" and we would not take any violent action. Finally the other guy showed us to an area that was excellent to post Falun Dafa information. During our chat, he told us that many people in his village practiced Falun Gong and that most of them had been persecuted by police and public security.

Mr. Wang Yingbo (male, 56 years old), a practitioner from Gongxinzhuang, Gaobeidian City, Hebei Province, was picked up by the police and forced to attend 20 days of brainwashing. By the time he was released, he appeared to have become insane. Further details are yet to be discovered.

Over the October 1^st National Day holiday, Falun Dafa practitioners in Chengdu City publicly displayed many banners and posters clarifying the truth about Falun Gong. Practitioners took the opportunity to clandestinely gather in suburban resorts for experience sharing. Exchanging experiences helps to bring about mutual advances in cultivation. Other practitioners visited their hometowns and took the opportunity to clarify the truth of the persecution of Falun Gong to the people there. Falun Dafa material could be found posted at the entrances to government offices throughout the district.

On 8/27/2001, Chengdu police arrested six practitioners in rapid succession. One practitioner was followed and picked up by plainclothes police after leaving his part-time job. At about the same time, Ms. Zhang Xiaoying, Mr. Guo Qing and several others were arrested. The Public Security Police office gave the excuse that the six were suspected to have been getting together for Falun Dafa experience sharing. The police ransacked their homes and confiscated computers, VCD players and other personal property. They also seized approximately twenty thousand Yuan (about three years salary for an average Chinese urban laborer) from their bank accounts. The six practitioners are still illegally held at the Second Detention Center of Longquanyi District of Chengdu City. Due to their defiance in the face of such evil persecution and their refusal to cooperate with their oppressors, the Niushidou Police Station has denied them the right to receive visits or care packages from their families.

On 04/03/01, Mr. Shen Xuqing of Qingbaijiang District in Chengdu City was illegally arrested by the Public Security Bureau of Jiange County. While on a business trip, Mr. Shen had simply explained to others how the Tiananmen Square self-immolation had been a blatant frame-up created to slander Falun Dafa. Not following any due process of law, the Bureau sent him to a forced labor camp for one year and confiscated 50,000 Yuan of his company's money. At the time, Mr. Shen's employer was experiencing cash-flow problems so he had loaned 20,000 Yuan of his own and 30,000 Yuan from his sister to temporarily help his employer. His family members, co-workers and local law authorities have made several trips involving over 10 hour drives to Jiange County to visit Mr. Shen and to demand the return of the company's money, all in vain. The public security personnel, concerned about their evil deeds being exposed to the public, threw Mr. Shen into the Jiange County Detention Center and forced him to endure many forms of mental and physical torture.

Mr. Shen's father-in-law (age 62) has been forced to serve a 2-year term in Xinhua Labor Camp in Mianyang County and has seen his retirement payments suspended. His mother-in-law (age 58) has been illegally detained by Xindu County for almost 6 months, though little is known about her exact whereabouts. Mr. Shen's wife and her sister have been held in Nanmusi Labor Camp in Zizhong County for the past year. They were fired from their jobs due to their practice of Falun Gong. The whole family has been forced into homelessness, drifting away from each other. Because they are firm in their belief of the cosmic principle "Zhen-Shan-Ren (Truthfulness -- Compassion -- Forbearance)," they are persecuted and their family has been torn up by the evil acts of Jiang Zemin and his regime.

On the eve of July 20, some police in Guangan County, Sichuan Province wanted to ensure that practitioners would not be going to appeal in Beijing again. They attempted to arrest a practitioner in the name of sending her to a political "class." The practitioner refused to fall for the police trick, locking herself inside her home to send forth righteous thoughts to eliminate evil. A local policeman then broke into and entered the apartment through a window without a search warrant.

The practitioner sternly challenged the policeman for his illegal entry. The policeman had no good answer and demanded the key to open the door. Another policeman below yelled, "Keep climbing through the window!" The practitioner sent forth righteous thoughts and warned both policemen that "If any more of you break into my apartment today, you won't be able to get out." The police were overwhelmed by the power of the practitioner's righteous belief, daring to take no further action other than to call for help from their superior. The superior simply chastised them, "She is at home! Why do you leave her?" The policeman downstairs felt guilty and quietly left while the one in the apartment asked the woman to open the door so he could leave. She sternly told him, "Leave the way you just got in. I hope you will stop bothering me. Remember that persecuting practitioners and Falun Dafa is a crime against Heaven." That policeman had no choice but to embarrassingly climb out of the apartment through the window.

Through genuine cultivation practitioners have realized and validated the great power of Falun Dafa, the benevolent protection of Teacher Li and the importance of righteous thoughts.
