Practitioners Attend Amnesty International Annual Meeting

Nov. 16, 2001

This year the Amnesty International (AI) Annual Meeting was held in Sacramento, California. California practitioners attended the two-day event and took the opportunity to display Falun Gong exhibition boards and distribute Dafa information to meeting attendees. The effects were very good. A young gentleman suggested better ways to urge China to stop persecuting Falun Gong. A high school student inquired how to start an urgent rescue in her school.

A practitioner was invited to give a presentation entitled State Terrorism Aiming to Destroy Morality and Conscience in a special session entitled China Problems after 911. The presentation included the means used by Jiang Zemin's regime in the brutal persecution against Falun Dafa practitioners. The practitioner also called upon the American government to not forget to condemn the State Terrorism adopted by Jiang Zemin's regime while seeking China's support on the issue of antiterrorism. The special session was presided by T. Kumar, AI Asian Chief and James H. Zimmerman Jr., an AI China affairs expert.

Falun Gong issue is one of the main concerns of AI. Over 300 people attended the meeting.

All the attendees of the special session are activists on China issues and they have been participating in activities aiming at improving the human rights situation in China. They applauded after the practitioner delivered the speech. After the presentation, the attendees spoke out on how to improve human rights conditions in China.
