Japan: SOS! Global RescueWalk Walkers Hold Peaceful Appeal in front of the Chinese Embassy

Nov. 21, 2001

Around 9:30 a.m. on November 14, 2001, the walkers of SOS! Global RescueWalk in Japan started their walk from Abisu Park to the Chinese Embassy to have a peaceful appeal. Upon arrival, they set up the big banners reading "Falun Dafa" and "SOS! Urgent: Rescue Falun Gong Practitioners Persecuted in China" in front of the Chinese Embassy

Due to the pressure from the Chinese embassy, police told us not to use those banners. One practitioner kindly explained to the police, but the policeman still insisted upon his request. Practitioners who held the banners didn't comply. Another practitioner said to the police with tears in her eyes, "It is these three banners that the walkers held and walked for over two months across Japan, finally ending up in Tokyo. Among the walkers, there is a lady who is over 60. The walkers have carried the banners across Japan. Why are we not allowed to hold them now?" The police answered, "You have finished delivering the letter and those banners are too bright and eye-catching." Practitioners further explained that we want more people to know Falun Dafa. That's the reason why walkers wanted to go through so many hardships. These banners express what we want to say. That is why we want to hold them here.

At the same time, the rest of the practitioners sent forth righteous thoughts and the police went away. Then he came back again with much better attitude. This time he asked us in a very nice and requesting manner to not use these banners. Practitioners knew that police must have gotten more pressure from the Chinese embassy and suggested that we hold them up until 1 p.m. The police agreed since it was almost 12 p.m.

Practitioners looked at the banners and realized we should hold them until the end of the activity. The police request was a test of our Xinxing. If we have righteous thoughts, no one can make us waver. Then we sent forth righteous thoughts again to eliminate evil and to let the banners stay in front of the Chinese Embassy. From then on, there was no more interference. The banners stayed until 5 p.m. when the activity ended.

The over 2,300 kilometer walk came to a successful conclusion.
