[Minghui Net] Ah Hai (alias) was an orphan. He learned to steal and got into fights ever since he was little; he went to jail for this. After he was released, he made a living by operating a small business, yet he often gave short weight to the customers. After much struggle, he earned some money, got married, built his own house and had a child. Just as he was looking forward to a comfortable life in the future, his wife was afflicted with serious rheumatism, and lost her ability to work. Gradually she even had difficulties getting out of bed, her finger knuckles became deformed, and she couldn't even hold a cup. Ah Hai was anxious, yet misfortunes never come singly, and next he himself was afflicted with cirrhosis of the liver. He was just skin and bones, and his belly was swollen like a pregnant woman's. The couple spent all the money they made from previous years on medicine, but still their conditions didn't improve.

Ah Hai's son was only five years old. Ah Hai couldn't hold back his tears whenever he saw his son. He often said to him, "My son, let me tell you something, orphans suffer so! Your dad has had enough living without parents in his life, and now I'm afraid you'll have to live like I did..."

In his village there were many Falun Dafa practitioners. They tried to convince Ah Hai to learn Dafa, but he didn't listen. He said, "I don't believe in anything, all of that 'faith' stuff is used to fool people." After Falun Dafa was named an illegal organization, he laughed at them, "See? Wasn't I right? Every 'faith' is fake."

Since October 1999, many people in his village went to Beijing to uphold Dafa. Ah Hai felt puzzled: "Why are they so aggressive? It's understandable for the young people because they have a temper. But why did the old women also go to Tiananmen Square? Have they forgotten what the Great Culture Revolution was like?"

Bearing questions in mind, Ah Hai borrowed audiocassettes of Teacher Li's lectures. After he listened for a while, he went to ask a veteran practitioner, "Teacher said he could cleanse one's body, my wife and I are both sick, will Teacher help us?" The veteran practitioner said, "If you cultivate sincerely, Teacher will certainly take care of you . But you won't get anything if you desire anything other than cultivation itself."

Ah Hai went home and asked for his wife's opinion. His wife said, "I've been willing to learn this Falun Gong for a long time. I don't want to get anything, I just want to cultivate." On the morning of the next day, Ah Hai carried his wife on his back to the veteran practitioner's home, and let her learn the Fa [law and principles] and do Dafa exercises there, and he himself went to his business. In the evening he carried her home. On the third night, Ah Hai went to pick up his wife as usual, and saw her sitting on a little stool. Ah Hai said, "You're in poor health, don't sit so low." His wife suddenly stood up, and walked around the room by herself. Ah Hai was stunned, "You can walk now!" She stretched out her hands, and Ah Hai saw that all the deformed knuckles were back to normal!

After that Ah Hai also started learning Dafa. Several days later, a veteran practitioner asked him, "Tomorrow we'll go to Tiananmen Square in Beijing to uphold the Fa, do you want to go?" Ah Hai answered hastily, "No, I don't want to go."

After he went home, Ah Hai thought it over and felt it was very important to uphold the Fa, so he said to his wife, "Tomorrow I also want to go to Tiananmen Square to uphold the Fa." His wife said, "You've only read the book a few times, what do you know?" Ah Hai said, "I don't have to know everything, I just know that your illness was cured, and this Fa is genuine. I'll just tell others this Fa is true, that's all." His wife said, "All right, just go then."

On that night, Ah Hai said to the Teacher in his dream, "Teacher Li, tomorrow I'll go to uphold the Fa, but how can I go with such a big belly?" Right after he finished speaking, he saw a white transparent hand poked his belly, and he suddenly woke up. He felt that his extended belly, caused by the liver cirrhosis, became soft. He didn't pay much attention to it and went back to sleep.

On the next day, Ah Hai woke up and found that his big belly had become small, and he felt very hungry. Because of the liver cirrhosis, he had long ago lost his appetite. This time he ate many steamed buns, and then he went to Tiananmen Square with some veteran practitioners.

Ah Hai was arrested in Tiananmen Square. After he got out of the detention center, Ah Hai became a genuine Dafa practitioner. Before Ah Hai was always shouting out for customers, now instead of shouting, he is busy reciting Hong Yin [Teacher Li's poem collection]. However his business wasn't harmed a bit. The merchandise he used to sell in a whole day, now he sells in half a day. After he finishes the business, he rushes home to study Zhuan Falun [Falun Gong's principal instruction book], and goes to a veteran practitioner's home to do exercises and exchange cultivation experiences. He used to be very thin from his disease, being nothing but skin and bones; after he learned Dafa, Ah Hai recovered to his original weight in a little more than a month, and is very healthy now.

Both Ah Hai's wife's and son's celestial eyes were open, and they could often see the Teacher's Law Body in their home. His son says, "Dafa saved my family!" to everyone he meets.

After Ah Hai learned Dafa, he never gave customers short weight again. But at one time he forgot and out of old habits gave short weight again. After he realized it, he ran after the customer and returned the money to the customer. He said, "Now that I study Dafa, I can't cheat people. I just gave you short weight, now I'm giving you back your money." The customer knew Ah Hai and what he was like before, so he was very surprised. From then on he told everyone he met, "Ah Hai has totally changed since he learned Falun Gong."

The story of Ah Hai's family obtaining Dafa has spread throughout the village. Many people who learned Dafa before but later quit because of fear have turned around and picked up cultivation again.

Ah Hai also did "help Teacher in the mundane world" (a quote from Hong Yin) with veteran practitioners, and went all the way to the south. He promoted the Fa along the way, and told his story to the people he met. Many veteran practitioners who didn't step forward were moved by his story that he went to Tiananmen Square to uphold the Fa only after three days of obtaining the Fa, and were inspired to go to Beijing to uphold Fa together.

Ah Hai doesn't know fancy words. Something he often says is, "I just know this Dafa is true, and I have to tell people that."
