Ex-Husband of a Deceased Dafa Practitioner Signs 70,000 Yuan Agreement with Dalian Police

July 4, 2001 |   A Dafa Disciple in China

June 28, 2001

After Dafa Disciple Wang Qiuxia was tortured to death on June 10 in the Dalian Labor Camp, the labor camp claimed Wang died from a disease so as to cover their crime. They promised Wang's relatives that if they signed a certificate saying Wang had died from a disease, the family would receive 70,000 Yuan as compensation and Wang's son, Zhang Lianpeng (a Falun Gong practitioner also in detainment), would also be released. The stipulations for the family, however, stated that they could not sue the labor camp and they had to keep quiet about the event. The Wangs refused the deal. In order to secure a signature, the labor camp searched for Wang's ex-husband, Zhang, whom she divorced 10 years ago. With 70,000 Yuan as enticement, Zhang gave an invalid signature to the labor camp. Of course, Wang's relatives do not recognize the signature.

It is reported that Wang's relatives have asked around to find the real reasons behind Wang's death. The court and the relevant departments, however, have declined their requests. Practitioners and all kindhearted people are watching this event closely.

Note: Even though Wang has already passed away, the police are still monitoring her home tightly.
