[Changchun City, Jilin Province] The Power of Righteous Thoughts
Recently, the power of both Chinese and overseas Dafa practitioners' righteous thoughts working together, along with the great pressure from international public opinion, has made the Changchun Labor Camp release a group of Dafa practitioners who had completed their sentences or had been detained longer than their original sentences. The officials obviously changed their attitude towards Dafa practitioners.
[Sanhe City, Hebei Province] The Vicious "Brainwashing Classes" Thoroughly Fail
In Sanhe City, Hebei Province, some people cling obstinately to committing crimes and help Jiang Zemin do evil deeds. They held brainwashing classes to persecute Falun Dafa practitioners, which ended in failure every time.
Recently, they set up a so-called base of operations in the compound of the former Civil Administration Bureau. They deceived and kidnapped Dafa practitioners, as well as used other unlawful means to arrest the practitioners, and sent them to the vicious brainwashing classes. By the beginning of August, they again ended in utter failure. The majority of the several practitioners who gave in to the overwhelming pressure, and gave up their beliefs have managed to understand their loss. This is a deathblow to the evil.
New reports have confirmed that vicious Chinese officials continue to hold brainwashing classes in the former place to persecute Dafa practitioners. A different group of practitioners were sent to the brainwashing classes every week. Each person was extorted 4,000 Yuan RMB as the living expenses in the brainwashing classes.
We hope that all local Dafa practitioners will make joint efforts to resist persecution, help your relatives, friends and the relevant personnel know the truth, and send forth righteous thoughts to alleviate the oppression of Falun Gong.

During the Daqing Petroleum College celebration ceremony, sounds of firecrackers were heard from the sixth floor by the side of the conference hall. After the noise stopped, a several-meter-long banner with the words "Falun Dafa is Good" floated down. This brave action of clarifying the truth to the people intimidated the evil forces present.
[Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Dafa Practitioners Intimidate Evil with Their Righteous Thoughts and Actions
A few days ago, we learned that a propaganda session would be held in the Wuhan Science and Technology Center. The employees of every work unit were recruited to attend . Wuhan Dafa practitioners assembled and sent forth the righteous thoughts. The morning of September 5, broadcasted programs from the World Falun Dafa Radio Station resounded directly opposite the gate of Wuhan Science and Technology Center. This has helped those who had hostility towards Falun Dafa gain a clearer picture of the persecution. There were about 50 plainclothes police, 15 riot police and some armed police around the science and technology center. The highly "protected" site suggested that the evil was fearful. Since a label with the words "Anybody who dares to take it down will receive due retribution" was attached to the loudspeaker, the vile people were too afraid to remove it. After quite a while, the 15 riot police finally put the loudspeaker in a big iron barrel and towed it away with a truck.
From this recent event corrupt officials suspected that one practitioner was related to this matter, but could not find any evidence. They went to a Dafa practitioner's home and tried to persuade him to confess. Since the practitioner was doing the most righteous thing he refused to cooperate with the evil. Instead he sat in meditation pose doing the beautiful hand gestures and sent forth righteous thoughts. The police were very frightened, they decided to call for back up and so they asked two more policemen to join them in their assault. They even tried to threaten the practitioner's family members. Those several police forced the practitioner to get in the police car. However this practitioner was upright and righteous. During his detention, the practitioner constantly sent forth righteous thoughts. With the strengthening [of divine powers] from the Teacher, this practitioner walked out in front of the police officer's eyes in an open and aboveboard manner. The vile policemen Zhu Lin once boasted, "You always talk about retribution. Why am I still fine even though I've torn up so many flyers?" This practitioner escaped while he was on duty. He will be punished by his supervisor because of breach of duty.
[China] Story of a 10-Year-Old Fellow Practitioner
A new semester is coming, but 10-year-old Junjun is not able to go back to school like other children simply because she is a steadfast little Dafa practitioner.
At the end of August 2001, Junjun and two other fellow practitioners were arrested at a Dafa material site, and nobody knows their whereabouts. Both Junjun's father and her elder sister are Dafa practitioners. Her father is a retired doctor from an army hospital, and he was unjustly sentenced to labor camp simply because he refused to give up his belief in Falun Dafa. He has been detained since then. Her mother was wanted by police because of cultivating Falun Dafa. During the past 2 years, little Junjun wasn't able to live a stable life like other children, particularly last year, when Junjun's mother was illegally detained, making the situation worse. Meanwhile, Junjun's elder sister, a college student in Beijing, was detained because she went to Tiananmen to validate Dafa. 9-year-old Junjun had to live on her own. Even under such circumstances, the police still went to her home from time to time to harass and threaten her.
Furthermore, the police even went to her school to harass her. Little Junjun had no choice but to suspend her schooling. Together with her elder sister and other fellow practitioners, Junjun helped with work to rectify the Fa (Law and Principles). She frequently distributed materials with fellow practitioners.
Although she has been harassed during the recent two years, it didn't interfere with her studying Dafa. She studies Zhuan Falun very diligently and can finish one chapter in 20 minutes with almost no mistakes. To our surprise, those so-called people's police had the heart to arrest such a lovely little girl. She has been illegally detained over 10 days, and has not been released up to now. We hope all kind-hearted people around the world will pay close attention to the persecution of Falun Dafa in China, and jointly resist the inhuman evil crimes of persecution against righteous belief. Otherwise, we cannot imagine how many children like Junjun will lose their childhood, happiness and perhaps even their lives!
[China] Vile Police Wantonly Arrest Dafa Practitioners on the Eve of Bidding for the Olympic Games
On the early morning of July 13, under Jiang Zemin's political directive, the vile police in Mainland China acted together to arrest a large number of Dafa practitioners who printed materials in their rented apartments in various areas. In Beijing alone, the police broke into many homes. It was estimated that they unlawfully arrested 100 to 200 Dafa practitioners.
[Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] The Recent Situation of Dafa Practitioners in the Changlinzi Labor Camp
On April 10, the guards of Squadron 4 in Changlinzi Labor Camp tied up 17 Dafa practitioners, including Zhang Lin, Yin Anbang and Wei Hongwei. Three vile police officers with the last name Wang brutally beat these three practitioners, and caused them much suffering. In order to stop them from persecuting Dafa practitioners excessively, and to eradicate the evil, practitioner Zhang Zhi requested to negotiate with them about the incident. The head of the labor camp Yang Binying avoided meeting him with an excuse that he had no time. Then they transferred Zhang Zhi to Squadron 3 from Squadron 4 in an attempt to shirk the responsibility of this beating incident with no definite resolution.
Under such a circumstance, Zhang Zhi and other practitioners held a hunger strike to protest. We've learned that since August 21, about 50 practitioners at Changlinzi Labor Camp have been on a hunger strike to protest the persecution and the illegal detention. They requested to be released, since they had done nothing wrong. However, this has lasted up to September 12, and the hunger strike has lasted for 22 days and is still ongoing.
Dafa practitioner Xu Naiwen held a hunger strike to protest and request to be released due to his innocence. After 32 days' hunger strike, he was released and sent back home on August 8 to be hospitalized outside of the labor camp. On August 31, Squadron 1 leader Li Jinhua, Squadron 4 political instructor Wang Yuou and two other officials in the labor camp drove to Xu Naiwen's home. They took Xue Nanwen back to the labor camp, and detained him in Squadron 3. After being detained, Xue Naiwen started a hunger strike right away. His current situation is unknown.
[Xindu County, Sichuan Province] Anything But 'Kind-treatment' of Falun Gong Practitioners by Police
Police of Xindu County Police Department claimed that they never tortured Falun Gong practitioners. On the contrary, they say that they treated practitioners very well. What's the real story?
On April 2001, police arrested 7 Falun Gong practitioners when they were distributing truth-clarifying material. In order to coerce practitioners to reveal the source of the materials, police of the Xindu Police Department whipped them with a leather-thonged whip, stabbed them with steel nails, and stepped on their fingers with leather boots. As a result, some practitioners received bruises all over their bodies; some practitioners lost consciousness. One female practitioner's teeth became loose. Police even forbade practitioners to go to the restroom or to sleep for forty-eight hours. Police shocked anyone who closed his eyes with an electric stun baton.
In the detention center, practitioners always kept smiles on their faces and held a compassionate heart, which upset the evil policemen. One-day policeman Yuan slapped one practitioner on his face when he found that he kept smiling.
Practitioners kept practicing Falun Gong in the detention center. Upon finding them practicing Falun Gong, the policemen would pour cold water and the vile contents from a spittoon upon them. They didn't allow practitioners to dry their wet clothes and quilts, even though it was winter. In the summer, policemen poured the fermented food scraps mixed with a grain gruel that was the slop for hogs on them. However, practitioners still kept practicing in spite of this abuse.
In order to stop the practitioners from practicing the Falun Gong exercises, police even threw the mud mixed with dog excrement from the dog kennels on the Falun Gong practitioners.
This is the so-called "kind-treatment to Falun Gong practitioners". However, practitioners treated them with compassion and a kind-heart. The practitioners hoped that the police would recognize the truth and cherish their own lives. They wanted them to realize the principle, "Good is rewarded with good and evil is met with evil" so as to help save them.
[Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Husband and Wife Kidnapped and Taken to a Detention Center
Married practitioners Cui Fengzhi and Yao Xiurong were employees of the Tangshan Coking Plant. They were dismissed for practicing Falun Gong in May 2001. They have been destitute and homeless for more than three months. At the end of August, police from the Plant illegally arrested them when they went home. They are currently illegally detained in the Tangshan No. 2 Custodial Center. With both his parents in detention, their 11-year old son has been forced to fend for himself on the street.
[Wendeng, Shandong Province] Police Force Passengers to Trample Teacher's Portrait
Evil police from Wendeng in Shandong Province, set up a checkpoint several times at a toll station on the second grade highway from Weihai City to Qingdao City. They forced all passengers to trample on a portrait of Falun Gong founder and arrested anyone who refused to do so. Many passengers were very upset saying, "this is bandits' behavior".
During the period during the two [National] Conferences" police from the Harbor Police Station of Weihai City placed a portrait of the Falun Gong founder on the ground near the entrance and exit to the station. Policemen Zhang Xiao, Xu Yuanhe and Ma Fulong forced passengers to step on the portrait. This was to find and prevent any practitioners from going to Beijing to appeal.
They arrested any passengers who did not step on the portrait. Policemen also set up checkpoints on the highway from Wendeng to Rushan. Passengers were not allowed to continue on through until they had slandered the founder of Falun Gong.
We hereby offer a kind word of advice to the agents involved and the controller behind them that "Good is rewarded with good and evil is met with evil." If you don't stop your activities, what awaits you will be everlasting pain and turmoil! All Dafa practitioners who see this article, please send forth your righteous thoughts to eradicate the evil, let the evil people responsible obtain their due retribution.
[Weihai, Shandong Province] General Manager Forces Employee to Resign Due to Her Belief in Falun Gong
Xia Ziqiang, the general manager of Hualian Business Edifice in Weihai City, Shandong Province threatened to dismiss an employee who was a Falun Gong practitioner, because she would not slander the founder of Falun Dafa. In order to validate Dafa and maintain dignity as a human being, the practitioner resolutely resigned. People said the reason why the business of Hualian Business Edifice is depressed is because a gangster runs it.
[Taiyuan, Shanxi Province] "Legal System Study Class" in Taiyuan City is just Another Name for Brainwashing
A so-called "Legal System Learning Class" was set up on March 5, 2001 in the city Labor Camp, Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province. Most members were practitioners deceived by police from local police stations when they were asked to have a conversation with the authorities.
In living quarters, practitioners were watched through monitors. They were not allowed to turn off the lights when sleeping. They could not interact or talk with each other freely. The staff would curse and torture any "violators". The female staff member Cui beat a practitioner until she was badly battered. The staff was afraid that others would see the practitioner. She forbade the practitioner to go to the dining room to eat for two days.
There were many methods of torture, pouring water on practitioners; pouring water on their quilts; forcing them to stand under the burning sun; forced standing; forced running; terrifying them by threatening to release a dog that was half wolf on them etc. (Staff psychologically tortured a practitioner by forcing her to run at night, then threatening to release an attack dog that was half wolf on her while she was running.)
Sometimes staff did not allow practitioners to go to bed until after 10:00 PM. They cursed and verbally abused practitioners. They even forced practitioners to handle their personal business.
[Shandong Province] Several Practitioners Are Sent to the "Wangchun Brainwashing Class"
Falun Gong practitioner Yi Yingsheng was an employee of the Yantai City Fuel Company, Yantai City, Shandong Province. At 6:00am on August 8, 2001, the deputy party secretary of the Fuel Company, Ma Dexiang, the director of the Security Section Zheng Shuliang, and two policemen from the Baishilu Police Station entered Yi's home by tricking his family members and forcibly took him away. Yi was sent to the Wangcun Brainwashing Class.
Falun Gong practitioner Liu Zhijie, male, was an employee of the Weifang Salt Industry Company, Weifang City, Shandong Province. On August 15, 2001 he was forcibly sent to the Wangcun Brainwashing Class. On August 17, he refused to be brainwashed at the 10th brigade of the labor camp and as a result more than one dozen so-called "transformed people" [Note: those people who have renounced their belief and are now employed by the government to persecute fellow practiitoners] severely beat him. His body was covered with wounds and he could barely walk. Those evil people forced him to write a "guarantee". When he refused, they hit his arms with a wooden board and beat and kicked him.
Falun Gong practitioner Wang Benhua, 46 years old, was a professor of the Physics Department of Yantai Normal University, Yantai City, Shandong Province. On August 28, personnel from the Public Security Division of the University kidnapped him and his wife (both are practitioners). Police handcuffed them, stuffed their mouths with towels, and sent them to the Wangcun Brainwashing Class to be brainwashed. Wang was injured all over his body in the process by being abducted by the authorities.
[Lanzhou City, Gansu Province] The Former Chief Assistant of Ganshu Province Falun Dafa Assistance Center, Yuan Jiang, Is Abducted
On August 31, 2001, the roguish police abducted Yuan Jiang, former Chief Assistant of Ganshu Province Falun Dafa Assistance Center, while he was driving a vehicle out of town. Now, the Ganshu Province Police Department has secretly detained him in Lanzhou City. Yuan Jiang is a graduate of Qinghua University. Now an urgent appeal is being issued to the compassionate and righteous people at home and abroad, and especially to his former Qinghua schoolmates, to rescue the Falun Gong practitioners who graduated from Qinghua University, and who have been subjected to persecution for over two years.
[Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Practitioner Gao Wengang Sentenced to Two Years in Jail
Twenty-five-year-old Gao Wengang, of Jinkou Street, in Daqingbu Village, Jiangxia District, Wuhan City, was arrested in Beijing in 2000, after going there to appeal. The Jiangxia District Police Department illegally detained him for fifteen days, and then transferred him to a brainwashing class. Refusing to renounce Falun Gong, he protested the illegal detention by going on a hunger strike, and was later released. In the first part of July 2001, the police thugs arrested him while he was distributing truth-clarifying materials on Jinkou Street, and sentenced him to two years in jail.
[Tangshan City, Hebei Province] The Evil Persecution of Falun Gong Practitioners in the Second Detention Center
In the Second Detention Center of Tangshan City, Director Dong Huiping, Deputy Director Wang Yuhe and Disciplinary Section Chief Zhang Haimin, in April, permitted the Female Team Warden, Xing Lixin, to cruelly persecute the practitioners who refused to renounce Falun Dafa. She mercilessly assaulted the practitioners with an electric baton. Following the torture, some practitioners could barely breathe, and others could not even raise their arms. In August, four female practitioners insisted on doing the exercises while in jail. They were punished by being forced to sit in the "iron chair" (a torture method in which a person is forced to sit motionlessly in an iron chair for long periods) for over twenty days.
[Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Exposing the Inside Story of the Brainwashing Class of Tangshan Textile University
I am a retiree living in Tangshan City, Hebei Province. I began practicing Falun Dafa in 1997, but because I refused to renounce my cultivation, on December 20, 2000, I was forced to attend the brainwashing class at the Tangshan Textile University, in which I was cruelly tortured.

The brainwashing class has been disguised under the name, "Tangshan Textile University," but within the enclosure are high walls and iron barred windows, with armed police sentries at the gates. Each practitioner was secluded in solitary confinement, completely isolated from the outside world. They were forbidden to do the Falun Dafa exercises, forced to do slave labor, forced to watch videos that slandered Falun Dafa, and forced to perform military exercise drills. The practitioners had to strictly follow the regimen, or they would be punished by being made to stand (a sleep deprivation torture), by being forced to run laps, by being handcuffed, by torture with electric shock, by being detained or being sent to a labor camp. Even sixty-five-year-old men and women were made to perform the goose step in the military marching drills. Those oppressors did not even excuse the weak practitioners who had been on hunger strikes for over ten days.
All of those detained in the brainwashing class had to pay a monthly "brainwashing fee" of 1,500 Yuan RMB per person, while the actual monthly living expense for each detainee is less than 150 Yuan. (The average monthly salary for an urban worker is 500 Yuan.) The practitioners' families were forced to make their monthly payments by the scheduled due date; or practitioners would be sent to detention centers and labor camps. Some of the families had no choice but to pawn their treasured heirlooms and other valuable property.
The conniving police sent some traitors from the labor camps and detention centers to spread the false "enlightenment" of evil ways, in an attempt to confuse the practitioners. If a practitioner was ever to compromise and believe those fake philosophies, the TV station, newspaper and other media would propagandize it as a typical example.
[Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Guangdong Province Practitioners Are Expected to Send Forth Righteous Thoughts to Eliminate the Slanderous Picture Exhibition
From September 13 through September 27, a large-scale picture exhibition slandering Falun Dafa is being held on the first floor of the Guangdong Province Museum. The supporters of the picture exhibition are the Propaganda Department of Guangzhou City, the Office of the Spiritual Civilization Construction Committee, the City Judicial Bureau, and the Science Association. We expect the Falun Dafa practitioners in Guangdong Province to send forth righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil forces behind this exhibition.
[China] Take Advantage of Every Opportunity to Reveal the Truth and Save People
One day, a female Falun Dafa practitioner was making a phone call in a public telephone booth, when a senior couple, in their seventies, stopped by. The following is their conversation.
Old man: "Daughter, we have lost our way to our daughter's home, but we remember her phone number. Can you please show us how to use the public phone?"
Practitioner: "Do you have a phone card?"
Old man: "No."
Practitioner: "I would be glad to call her for you."
After making the phone call, the senior couple kept saying, "You really are a good person! It is so hard to find good people these days. You are so good!"
The practitioner assumed it was a good chance to promote the Fa, so she whispered to the old woman, "I am a Falun Gong practitioner."
The old woman grabbed the practitioner's hand and hurriedly told her, "You shouldn't become the way they say you are on TV."
The practitioner replied, "Madam, all the propaganda on TV is false and slanderous. The real Falun Gong practitioners never act the way they are portrayed on TV."
The old woman stared at the practitioner with a cordial, but childlike expression in her eyes. The practitioner further clarified the truth concerning several other points and, as the practitioner was leaving, the old woman gazed at her until she disappeared. The practitioner could not forget the expression in the old woman's eyes. It was a look of surprise and understanding, but also, one of respect. At that moment, the practitioner realized that with just a few words, she could save a life.
[Shengyang City, Liaoning Province] The Persecutors of Falun Dafa Practitioners in the Agricultural Electricity Bureau of Liaozhong County
Ying Shuqin, the Party Committee Secretary at the Agricultural Electricity Bureau of Liaozhong County, Shengyang City, Liaoning Province, is in charge of the persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners. She forced a few practitioners to renounce their cultivation practice in the workplace by threatening them with a layoff, and other, more humiliating means of dismissal. She also used this method to collect the signatures from female employees to slander Falun Dafa. She forced a practitioner to quit his job by sending him to a labor camp, and she got another practitioner laid off, who had been steadfastly continuing with his cultivation for quite a while.
Lu Qingchun and Liu Yudong reported an already laid off, determined practitioner to the County Security Bureau. Yang Weitao, Ying Shuqin and Du Shichang secretly forwarded the information to the city Bureau. On September 10, the City and County Police Department, the Political and Judiciary Committee, the Political Security Section, and officers from the local police station forcibly took this practitioner away from his workplace and sent him to the brainwashing class in Tiexi, Shengyang City.
Let our practitioners around the world and righteous people everywhere send forth powerful, righteous thoughts at every moment, "The Fa rectifies the cosmos, the evil is completely eliminated; The Fa rectifies heaven and earth, immediate retribution in this lifetime." This will leave the evil people, and the forces that control them, with no place to hide.
