Photo Report: Falun Gong Awareness Day in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania
On September 1, 2001, practitioners from the Greater Philadelphia area along with a Wilkes-Barre practitioner held Falun Gong Awareness Day in the Public Square of Wilkes-Barre. Residents received information about the persecution, viewed the exercise demonstrations, had their names written in Chinese calligraphy, and supported us by signing our SOS petition to help free practitioners persecuted in China. This is part of an on-going project by Greater Philadelphia practitioners to hold Falun Gong Awareness Days in areas of Pennsylvania. The media was represented by 2 of the areas major newspapers and one major TV news channel called TV28News.
