1. [Changchun City, Jili Province] Calling for All Practitioners in Changchun City to Send Forth Righteous Thoughts And Urgently Eliminate All Evil
Originally, Changchun City's Nanguan District Court was to conduct an illegal public trial of Falun Dafa practitioners on January 16. Due to the strong and righteous thoughts sent forth by practitioners, the trial was cancelled. With the righteous thoughts from the many practitioners in the courtroom, the court officials suddenly decided to call off the trial. Police cars from the City Police Station hurriedly left the scene when more than a hundred practitioners shouted together "Falun Dafa is good." The sound of these words hung in the air for a long time in the busiest part of the city, leaving a deep impression on passers by. This event has been effective in Fa rectification and promoting the Fa. We express the most sincere gratitude towards all practitioners in the world who have been sending forth righteous thoughts to eliminate evil.
However, evil has not yet been completely eliminated, so we should continue to try our best and take the initiative to be more righteous. We should not let the evil have a moment to rest, nor should we allow ourselves to feel complacent because of our successes. We suggest that everyone continue sending forth righteous thoughts to further eliminate the evil, and to avoid giving it a chance to hatch another plot. At the same time, eliminate all evil persecuting Falun Dafa practitioners in labor camps, detention centers, and police departments. Let every evil person receive immediate retribution.

A high ranking police chief with some kindness, in a certain province in China, expressed great sympathy and shock after hearing his relative (a practitioner) talk about the inhuman tortures occurring in jails. He immediately said to this practitioner, "Tell the family of the victims that after they find out who the perpetrators are, be persistent and sue them till the end. If you sue one, you will win one. The perpetrators will receive punishment."

Relatives of some Changchun practitioners know that Falun Dafa is good and after seeing practitioners put up truth clarifying materials to protect justice, they also helped out. At the same time, they clarified the truth to other people and helped to protect the Fa.
4. [Beijing] Please Pay Attention to What Happened to Li Chunyuan, A Lecturer at The Central Chinese Ethnic School
Li Chunyuan, a lecturer at Central Chinese Ethnic School, filed a charge against Jiang, citing his disregard for the lawciting Jiang's disregard for the law and constitution when persecuting Falun Dafa practitioners. Li was arrested secretly by the police and jailed at Tuanhe Forced Labor Camp where he is undergoing the most inhuman and cruel mental and physical torture. We are calling upon all international human rights organizations to pay attention to this matter and put an end to the acts of state sponsored terrorism in this country, which disregards human rights.
5. [Xinji City, Hebei Province] The Criminal Activities of The "610" Office
The "610" Office in Xinji City of Hebei Province is especially evil. Geng Zhanfeng, Section Chief, is extremely cunning and manipulative. Under his command, officers from the "610" Office often punch and kick practitioners, beat them with metal rods, as well as threaten and manipulate.
Those practitioners who could not endure the torture wrote a "Guarantee Statement" promising not to practice. They also are required to be recorded on video making anti-Falun Gong statements, and pay a "fine" of more than ten thousand Yuan [Chinese currency, the monthly salary for an average Chinese urban worker is about 500 Yuan] before they are released. Practitioners are also threatened with becoming financially ruined by the police if they continue to practice. Those practitioners who are determined to continue practicing are taken to detention centers and unlawfully jailed with those who have committed real crimes in the society.
Under the orders of higher level officials, Xinji City Detention Center extorted 20 Yuan a day from the detained Falun Dafa practitioners as food fees, while other detainees only pay 10 Yuan for the same food. Everyday, they are given five average sized buns, two small pieces of radish, and a small ladle of soup with each meal. Detainees' families are forbidden to bring the every day products that are sold at the detention center where they are much more expensive. Currently, around 30 practitioners are arbitrarily held at this detention center and they are in a very bad situation.

7. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Police Conduct Unlawful Search and Arrest Throughout the Entire City
On January 15, Dalian City police conducted a search and arrest of Falun Dafa practitioners throughout the entire city. They especially concentrated on those practitioners who clarified the truth and exposed the evil actions of the police. Such practitioners were severely persecuted and subjected to torture and beatings. The police are trying to persecute practitioners on a wider scale.
Currently Dalian City has ordered secret agents and spies to hide under staircases and in streets. Some practitioners who were distributing truth-clarifying materials have been arrested. We call upon all practitioners to send forth righteous thoughts and eliminate this evil.
8. [Beijing] Young Female Teacher at The Northern Jiaotong University Goes On A Hunger Strike in Jail
Wang Yi is a young female teacher in the foreign language department at Northern Jiaotong University. After her arrest on September 30, 2001, she started a hunger strike in October protesting her detainment. It has been three months since she started her hunger strike, and Wang's whereabouts are not known. Wang Yi's husband, Xu Ming, is one of the people responsible for the persecution. We were shocked to hear that Xu Ming's response to Wang Yi's hunger strike was, "If she does not [give up her belief], then she can stay in there."

9.[Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province]Update on Dafa Practitioner Xu Jiafeng and his Wife Cai
On November 27, 2001, Xu Jiafeng and his wife Cai were kidnapped in Liusha, Puning City, Guangdong Province. Cai escaped (this is the fifth time she has escaped using her righteous thoughts while being illegally arrested). Xu was sent to Haifeng, then Shenzhen, and is currently jailed in Xili Detention Center. Xu has been on a hunger strike for more than 20 days since he was arrested. Police tried to use his relatives to influence Xu to stop his hunger strike but failed. With grievous bodily injuries caused by police brutality still hurting him, he is in critical condition.
Xu's wife Cai disappeared on January 11, 2002 while mailing Dafa materials to practitioners in Shanwei City; police in Shanwei may have kidnapped her. If anyone knows her whereabouts please let us know.
Since July 20, 1999, the Xu couple has been the target of evil forces, and has been forced to leave their home to reveal the truth of Falun Dafa to people for a long time. In July 2001, they were listed as wanted by the Public Security Bureau, and a police car frequently parks outside the building where they live.
Police from Hubin Police Station who are in charge of their neighborhood even harassed their children. Once police interrogated Xu's oldest child. This was witnessed by Xu's friend who was coming to visit the children. The friend reprimanded the police saying, "You have broken up their family, what else are you going to do?" The embarrassed police then left.
We hope that the kindness and compassion of Dafa practitioners will awaken those blind people who are still doing harm to Dafa.
10. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] The Bitter Experience of Dafa Practitioner Jiang Bin
On January 12, 2002, Jiang Bin was arrested at his work unit by five police officers, including Yang Xuejun and Zhao Dongping, from the Tianjinjie Police Station.
Police searched his home and found nothing. Meanwhile, Jiang Bin managed to escape and walked the streets to avoid being arrested at his home. Jiang Bin said he might be tailed by police while distributing Dafa materials on a bus. Police prepared search and arrest warrants for Jiang. They had several other arrest warrants with them, but it is not known who they were for. Currently police forced Jiang Bin's relatives to surrender Dafa materials by threatening to have his father lose his job. Police also tried to list Jiang Bin on the official database for wanted criminals.
11. [Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province] Shameful Deeds of Some Former Practitioners Who Have Enlightened Along An Evil Path
The evil force in Zhanjiang City (Guangdong province) is still rampantly persecuting practitioners. Some former practitioners who had enlightened along an evil path even helped to arrest determined Dafa practitioners. These practitioners were forced to attend the brainwashing class located in the Agricultural Bureau. We hope fellow practitioners will send forth righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil. We send a stern warning to those deviated former practitioners to wake up and avoid a tragic end. We also hope practitioners can help to eliminate the evil behind them, and talk with them to help them wake up.

Wu Chuanjin, an employee of the Yuhong branch of Shengyang City Agricultural Bank, was an assistant at the Huaxiang Dafa practice site. He was illegally sent to a forced labor camp in July 2000. While in the labor camp, the bank branch helped the labor camp brainwash him, which caused him to enlighten on an evil path. Wu became a member of the brainwashing team in the labor camp and helped to persecute about 200 other Dafa practitioners in exchange for his early release. The Shenyang Daily has published his "model" story, and his work unit was also praised for their contribution.
His behavior has caused severe damage and negative effects to Dafa. We hope he will wake up as soon as possible and make up for the loss he has caused to Dafa and to avoid a disastrous end.
