Recently, documents from police departments, prosecutors and courts of law place the persecution of Falun Gong as a top priority, showing the desperation of the Jiang regime.

Please be careful when mailing Dafa materials. The Changchun State Security Bureau has established an Examination Office at various post offices, specifically to search through mail to find those containing Dafa literature. Therefore, practitioners are asked to keep the following in mind when mailing out Dafa literature:

• Do not do a mass mailing using the same envelope, with the same handwriting, in a single mailbox.
• Do not continuously mail materials to the same street
• Do not put too much in one envelope.
• Use materials that were originally handwritten whenever possible, because handwriting is harder for the machines to detect.

Late at night on December 23, 2001, Yu Fangli stormed into the number 2 cell, throwing things everywhere and cursing, "Did you say that I'm evil? Today I'll act evil and you'll see!" She woke up He Miao, a practitioner who has been on hunger strike for 64 days. At that time, her heartbeat rate was very quick, and she moaned several times. Yu said, "Don't pretend. Why aren't you frightened to death?" Since Yu did not find anything, she left angrily. Later, we found out that she had seen the materials exposing the evil written by practitioners.

The next morning Yu and Lin Yinzi, another warden, came to He's cell again. It turned out that He Miao wrote a letter to her family to disclose the persecution of Wanjia Labor Camp hospital and identified Yu Fangli as the primary culprit. Yu shouted, "You say we beat you? The chief warden can cover up for me! You ask your family to go to the 610 Office to accuse us? Go ahead! Do whatever you want. We beat you, then what? You asked your family to turn to a relative for help? Tell us his name, and we will send him to jail too!" Finally they even took away a piece of paper He had written phone numbers on, claiming that whoever left the cell would be searched, and that nobody could take a single piece of paper out with them.

Recently, the police have been arresting and persecuting practitioners relentlessly. On January 12, 2002, the police looted two main photocopy sites in Dalian and arrested many practitioners, some of whom were sharing experiences. This caused a great deal of damage to the local Dafa work. On that day, the weather suddenly turned bad. A heavy fog lasted for several days, and there was intermittent rain and hail.

Meng Jian, 38, female, is a well-respected English teacher at the Liaohe Oil Field in Panjing City.

On December 5, 2001, Panjing police suddenly broke into her school, barged into the classroom, and arrested her in front of her students. The students were frightened and shed tears when they saw their teacher being taken away.

After Meng was arrested, police illegally ransacked her home. They threw clothing everywhere, rampaged all over the house, and threw cigarette ashes and dog feces everywhere. Meng's child, who is 13 years old, asked them to be careful. They responded by intimidating the child. In the end, the police confiscated her Falun Dafa materials, books and a computer.

After she was arrested, Meng was not sent to the local detention center but transferred to another area. She is currently being detained at the Panjing Panshan Detention Center. In order to resist the evil persecution she has been on hunger strike for many days.

Her child is now at home alone with no one to care for her. Meng's husband, Zhang Yiliang, is detained at the Panjing Labor Camp for practicing Falun Dafa, and he is suffering from inhuman torture.

A happy family was thus broken up, and innocent people were thrown in jail.

Four teachers were placed in criminal detention prior to New Year's Day because they distributed materials that clarified the truth about Falun Gong. Li Yueying (female, teacher at the School of Transportation), and Ren Shumin (female, teacher at the 50^th Middle School) are currently held in the Third Detention Center of the Changchun Municipal Public Security Bureau.

Yu Yingqun (male), and Yu Changli (male) are teachers at the 4^th Middle School in Nong'an County. They are being held in the detention center of the Nong'an County Police Station.

In the early morning of February 14, 2001, over seventy banners were hung along the freeways and major streets, trees, fences, and railroad overpasses in Beijing. These banners read, "Falun Dafa is good," "Falun Dafa is the righteous Fa," etc. The truth was there for all to see. The evil forces were shocked. Teacher, please be assured that we will actively participate in the Fa-rectification process until the Fa has rectified the human world and the evil is completely eliminated.

One night in December 2001, Dafa practitioner Liu (alias) was on his way to the residence of another Dafa practitioner. He was caught unaware by several policemen at the entrance to the building. Liu refused to cooperate with the policemen, so they threw a plastic bag over his head and dragged him to the police substation through alleyways. Liu almost suffocated on the way. When the police demanded information, he refused to answer their questions, upsetting the policemen who were interrogating him. They beat him and hung him upside down so that his head touched the ground. After that the police stripped him of his clothing and continuously poured cold water on him. Liu still did not give in, so they brought a fan to blow air on him. One policeman ordered others to stab his fingers and toes until they drew blood. They also poked at his eyes with chopsticks. None of these torture methods shook this Dafa practitioner's righteous beliefs. On the contrary, Liu persevered through this torture, displaying the magnificence of Dafa. His righteous beliefs were only strengthened by the experience. Even though in the end they discovered who he was, Liu, aided by his righteous thoughts strengthened by Teacher, removed his own handcuffs. He then froze five guards in place with his righteous thoughts and walked out of the police substation. The police had confiscated his shoes, so Liu left barefoot. He then thought, "Teacher, my overcoming barriers this way and walking barefoot in the cold weather doesn't quite conform to the state of ordinary people. If I did this, no taxi driver would let me into their cab." Then as he walked forward, a pair of slippers appeared on the ground before him. Liu put them on and continued on safely.

Sun Yushu of the Qinghe County Police Station was in charge of the persecution of Falun Gong. Because his wife practices Falun Gong, he should have known that Falun Gong practitioners are innocent. He held a female practitioner from Wei County illegally for over eight months in order to extort money from her. Only when it became apparent that he would not get anything did he finally release her. Another male practitioner, Yang Zihao, has been in illegal detention for over eight months. Sun shamelessly claims that no matter how long he keeps someone in custody, he is not violating any regulations. On the night of December 17, 2001, just before New Year's Day, the police from Qinghe County launched a coordinated campaign. They climbed over walls and broke into practitioners' homes to conduct searches and arrests without warrants. Many Falun Gong practitioners were arrested, while a few escaped capture only because they happened not to be home at the time. These practitioners have been forced to remain homeless in order to avoid arrest. Practitioners placed in illegal custody include: Yang Xiuzhi, Kang Guiping, Zhao Baosheng, Lin Xiuzhi, Song Guizhi, Zhao Fuchen, and others, more than a dozen in total. They have been on a hunger strike for over 20 days. They have been force fed numerous times, and none of them have been released.
