Report from Chicago: at 11:25 a.m. on October 22, 2002, Jiang arrived at the Ritz-Carlton hotel in Chicago. To avoid confronting over a thousand Falun Gong practitioners who were peacefully appealing at the front door and other groups' protest, Jiang's motorcade entered the hotel from the parking lot. Although the Chinese Consulate arranged a 400-person "welcoming group" from universities in the area, they failed to block numerous banners reading, "Falun Dafa is good," and "Stop persecuting Falun Gong." The yellow clothing of Dafa practitioners could be seen everywhere.
