Germany: Falun Gong at a Meeting Hosted by the "Women of Courage" Group at the University of Dusseldorf

Nov. 19, 2002

(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong had been invited to staff an informational booth at the 5th Women's Political Advisory Meeting and to present a 20-minute presentation with the theme, "Religion and Spirituality." A group of practitioners demonstrated the exercises, as a result of which many people who observed engaged us in meaningful dialogue. Over and over again, the question was raised as to the reasons for the persecution. The tremendous guilt the Chinese regime had heaped on itself became obvious. Between 2,000 and 3,000 men and woman participated in this conference.

Our oral presentation on the stage differed considerably from other presentations. Most of the other women's speeches had a rather combative, confrontational overtone. At the request of the stage manager, we invited the 70 persons present in the auditorium to follow along with the exercise movements. All rose and willingly followed along, accompanied by Dafa-music. The atmosphere was one of concentration. People were moved by a practitioner's presentation that followed the exercises. The oration let people feel Dafa's harmonizing effects. We directly spoke about the support we had received from the UN, the EU and the US Congress and other governments regarding the human rights situation in China. Following that, attendees were totally silent when we explained the facts about the persecution against practitioners, particularly women. While this was taking place, simultaneously we showed photos of peaceful meditation exercises and also the persecution. Everyone seemed to be impressed, especially so because we did not exhibit a combative demeanor. At the end of our presentation, the stage manager wrote the principles of Falun Gong, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, on a huge blackboard.

At the conclusion of this conference the following day, Falun Gong was honored with special mention for making an impression on the attendees because of its simplicity.
