The Falun Gong has expressed [concerns] that the proposed anti-subversion laws will be used as a tool to suppress organizations which aren't favored by the SAR [special administrative region] and central governments. Belinda Lloyd reports.

[Lloyd] Speaking before a joint meeting of the Legislative Council's security and legal services panels, the director for the Hong Kong Association of Falun Dafa, Hui Kwok-hung, said the administration was following the footsteps of the central government [...]. He expressed [concerns] that the passing of anti-subversion laws would allow the SAR government to use national security as an excuse to get rid of the Falun Gong and other groups that aren't to their liking.

Mr. Hui also warned that this would introduce an element of arbitrariness into Hong Kong's legal system, which would erode the principle of one country, two systems.
