The Inside Story: Shibalihe Forced-Labor Camp in Zhengzhou City, Henan Province Fabricates Television News Reports

Nov. 26, 2002

(Clearwisdom.net) I signed an appeal letter in December 2001, and was therefore sent to the Shibalihe Women's Forced Labor Camp in Zhengzhou City, Henan Province. Under the evil forces' high pressure, coercion and persecution, and because of my being unable to study Dafa well and understand Dafa from the perspective of Dafa itself, I was tricked by the evil forces. Now I declare solemnly that during the period of my going-astray, everything I said and did, if not conforming to Dafa, is to be disregarded. The following are what I have seen and heard during the time I was in the forced-labor camp. I wrote them out to expose the evil forces' lies and to make deceived people see clearly the true colors of Jiang's political gang of scoundrels who use them to slander Falun Gong.

In May 2001, some reporters were coming from the China Central TV Station (CCTV) to the Shibalihe Women's Forced Camp to conduct an interview for creating propaganda materials to deceive people. At about 10 o'clock that morning, jail guards and policemen, who had been busy for several months in preparation, and several so called "well-transformed" persons among us were called to come together for "training." [these are former practitioners who went astray in their understanding and renounced their belief under severe pressure, coercion and torture] Wang Yan, the vice-director of the camp, arrived with several followers. She led Hao Haihua and Wang Juanjuan into a room of the Second Brigade, which had been cleaned and organized beforehand. Wang Yan then asked several other people to join them to serve as a contrast. A reporter with a camcorder told Wang Juanjuan and Hao Haihua, "You talk to each other and I will record." Hao Haihua said, "What are you asking us to say?" The reporter said, "You can chat about anything, as long as your lips are moving." Three days later, the CCTV fabricated, by over dubbing the recorded pictures, a TV film to vilify Falun Dafa, deceiving the public.

In June 2001, the Shibalihe Camp was informed that the "610 Office" (an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems) of the Central Committee of the Ruling Party would come to look over the situation of "transformation." To get together more people, the camp held practitioners whose terms were already over and did not allow them to leave the camp. At the beginning there were only ten to twenty people. When the examining group arrived I silently counted more than seventy people. On that day when the examination was carried out, five guards and policemen had been busy since early that morning. In fear that practitioners would shout "Falun Dafa is good!" and "Falun Dafa is the Righteous Fa!," they forcibly locked up more than seventy firm practitioners. They were not allowed to go out and were forced to watch recorded TV vilifying Dafa. Finally, the Shibalihe Camp in Zhengzhou was praised by the Central Committee of the Ruling Party as an "advanced camp" with "the highest rate of transformation."

Sunday afternoon, after four o'clock, we were lining up for our dinner (on Sundays, only two meals a day were served). A guard came to take a person away to a dormitory room with another person in tow, carrying a plate full of rice. Then the first person was asked to lie down on the bed with a woolen blanket over her. You may imagine how this felt since it was in the hottest of summer days. A while later, her body was covered with sweat and the guard lifted her up into a sitting gesture against the bed board, recovering the woolen blanket on her body and pretending to take care of a sick practitioner. Then the guard took the plate of rice and pretended he was feeding a "sick" practitioner gently, bit by bit, for the TV camera. He even pretended to say some comforting words to her so the reporter could record it with a TV camera. Very soon, the story was shown on the Henan Provincial TV station. Afterwards, that fake "sick practitioner" told us, "I felt terribly hot and was soaked with sweat. It gave me an awful feeling."

Jiang's regime employed various dirty tricks and shameless means to defame Falun Gong. As the old Chinese saying goes, "the net of Heaven has a large mesh, but it lets nothing through" Jiang and his followers crimes will surely be judged by history.
