Zhang was taken away from her home by the police on April 22, 2001, and then was terribly beaten by a policeman, whose surname is Xie, to the point of becoming incontinent. Zhang's fingers were deformed and handicapped as a result of the torture, and she was illegally sentenced to five years in prison starting on Jan 4, 2002. She is currently under illegal detention of the Xindu County Detention Center.

Luo Changyong, male, over 40 years old, university graduate, a Xindu County Seeds Company employee. Because of handing out truth-clarifying materials and exposing the lies, he was detained and tortured into making a confession. After this, he was brutally beaten and then was detained at the Xindu County Detention Center. On January 4, 2002, he was illegally sentenced to 4 years in jail.

Gong Xingfu, male, Tuanjie Village resident. Gong was arrested in April 2001 while handing out truth-clarifying materials. His leg was broken as a result of his being beaten, yet his family members had to pay for the medical expenses. Later, he was illegally sentenced to 3 and a half years in jail on January 4, 2002.

Li Yun, is a 39 year old female and resident of Guixiang Village. Because she clarified the true facts to people, she was illegally sent to a labor camp on November 2000. After a year in the Sichuan Province Female Forced Labor Camp, she was picked up and detained by local police. Then, she was illegally sent to a local county detention center where she underwent further persecution. Later, she was transferred to the Nibatuo Detention Center and remains in detention.

Liu Xiaoling is a 32 year old female living in Xinmin Dacheng Village. On December 28, 2000, she went to Tiananmen to peacefully appeal and was illegally detained for one year by the police. She went home on November 3, 2001. On December 20, she was kidnapped by local police using the excuse that she didn't have any national identification. She was then illegally detained by the county government before being transferred to a detention center. Currently, she has been transferred back to Nibatuo Detention Center and remains there.

Chen Guijun, a 57 year-old female and Qingbaijiang resident, was arrested at her home at the Xindu County Meijian Company residence in late April 2001. The evil police confiscated all her valuables, worth an estimated 50,000 Yuan [Chinese dollar, the average monthly income of urban area is about 500 Yuan], from her home, and she was also beaten severely. Black and blue marks covered her entire body due to the violent beatings she received. Later, Chen was illegally sentenced to one-and-a-half years in a forced labor camp.

Dong Jinzhi, female, 40 years old, Qingbaijiang resident, was arrested while handing out truth-clarifying materials on Dec 30, 2000 (in Chinese lunar calendar). She was illegally detained, and then sentenced to one and a half years in a forced labor camp.
