March 15, 2002

OTTAWA

March 12, 2002

The Honourable Bill Graham
Minister of foreign affairs
Lester B.Pearson Building, A-10
125 Sussex Drive

Ottawa ON K1A 0G2

Dear Minister:

For many years, China Government has persecuted Falun Gong practitioners. More over, Canadian Falun Gong practitioner went to China to denounce the attitude of this Government. At their arrival, they have been victims of violent actions and moreover, they suffered unacceptable human rights violations.

These practitioners have been practicing in Canada for years and they never harmed our Government. Why they could be a menace for China Government?

I call on your Government to condemn China's abuse of Canadian citizens and I request Canada to initiate a censure condemning China on its human rights record at the U.N. convention in Geneva this month.

There is no reason for such violations and deaths. These actions are not acceptable.

Sincerely,

Yvon Godin, MP

Acadie-Bathurst
