Report from Indonesia: Introducing Dafa and Participating in Fa-rectification (Part 2)

April 19, 2002

(Clearwisdom.net) Here is the second report by Falun Gong practitioners in Indonesia and how they introduced Dafa through offering introductory workshops and how they participated in Fa-rectification activities.

East Java: During the Falun Dafa Conference in Ancol, Yakarta, held at the beginning of March 2002, local media covered and reported on the conference for several days. This led several hundred people in Surabaya, the capital of the Province of East Java, to come to the local group (that had only 8-9 practitioners before) to learn Falun Gong. To help the beginners catch up, the local group organized a group study of all practitioners to read through Zhuan Falun during a three-day vacation period, and then followed up with several group intensive studies. These studies helped practitioners get a pretty good understanding of Dafa, and so, they could go out to participate in introducing the Fa and take part in Fa-rectification activities.

Central Java: In May 2001, two practitioners went to Semarang, the capital of Central Java to introduce Falun Dafa for the first time, and more than 10 people attended the workshop. On June 24, 2001, practitioners from both Yakarta and Surabaya came to introduce Falun Dafa and tell the truth about Falun Gong to the public. They even started to hand out flyers on the train and introduced Dafa to more than 60 people. The introduction workshop offered on the afternoon of June 25 had more than 300 participants and reporters from several newspapers covered the workshop. Then practitioners were invited to the headquarters of Sura Marderka (Independent Voice Daily) to teach more than 30 media workers the practice, and helped them set up a practice site. Now, in Semarang more than 100 practitioners come to practice Falun Gong regularly.

Bali: Located east of Java Island, Bali island province and its capital city, Denparsar, are famous the world over for its beautiful panoramic views of the seashore. In April 2001, three Falun Gong practitioners introduced Dafa to this island. More than 400 people came to the first workshop. Within three months, five practice sites have been set up, and now more than one hundred people come to practice Falun Gong regularly.

West Kalimantan: Kilimantan is the largest island of Indonesia, and Pointianak is the capital of West Kalimantan. Ethnic Chinese residents in Pointianak had been deeply deceived by the Chinese government-controlled media, and they resisted hosting a Falun Gong workshop scheduled for June 9, 2001.

To introduce Falun Dafa to more predestined people in Pointianak, more than 20 practitioners came from Jakarta on June 7. They immediately began to contact newspapers, arranged a one-hour broadcast to introduce Falun Gong, and answered questions of those that called in to the show, while others went to supermarkets to hand out flyers.

On the morning of June 9, these practitioners sent forth the righteous thoughts together to eliminate all interference from the evil forces within the three realms. By 1:30 p.m., when the introductory workshop began, surprisingly about 200 people came. In the mood of harmony and magnificence, the workshop started with showing the video of Teacher Li demonstrating the exercises, and then several practitioners talked about their personal experiences, and how good Falun Gong is and then, a question and answer session. Finally, the five sets of exercises were demonstrated and briefly taught by practitioners. The workshop ended by 5:00 p.m., but one female practitioner stayed in the city for one month to make sure that all who wanted to learn the exercises, could. Now this city has more than 100 practitioners and two practice sites.
