WHEREAS World Falun Dafa Day is being celebrated on May 13, 2002, and offers people from all social backgrounds, races, and religions, an assessable system of cultivation practice that results in remarkable improvements of body, mind, and spirit; and

WHEREAS Falun Dafa is based on the universe's characteristic, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, that serves to guide people toward higher spiritual levels. As well a complete set of five exercises, bestow peace and tranquility, while improving morality and integrity, thus bringing positive influence to all society; and

WHEREAS over 100 million people in over 53 countries have benefited tremendously through learning Falun Dafa, manifesting the finest qualities of human nature, and improving morality and integrity, thus bringing positive influence to all society; and

NOW, THEREFORE I, Ross Priest, Mayor of the City of Cranbrook do hereby proclaim May, 2002 as
