On April 25, Dafa practitioners from a city in Heilongjiang Province hung up over a hundred banners, which effectively validated Dafa.

[Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Policemen of Fushun City's Forced Labor Camp Force Practitioners' Relatives to Curse the Founder of Falun Gong or their Visit would be Denied

On April 11, lots of practitioners' relatives waited to see practitioners outside the door of the Female Division of Fushun City's Forced Labor Camp, which exists specially for the detention of Dafa practitioners. A policeman from the labor camp forced the relatives to slander the founder of Falun Gong before letting them in. A lady in her 30's angrily turned away with the items she brought. When an elderly woman wanted to go in, the policeman said, "You must curse." The woman seriously replied, "I teach children not to curse people. How come you ask me to slander others?" The policeman still did not let the righteous woman enter. The crowd was discussing this incident with each other. They all despised the policeman.

[Zibo City, Shandong Province] Illegal Arrest of Dafa Practitioner Cheng Wensheng in Xuzhou City of Jiangsu Province

On April 12, Mr. Cheng Wensheng, a Dafa practitioner from Linzi District of Zibo City, Shandong Province, left home to spread Dafa along the way. On April 13 he was arrested at a bus station in Xuzhou City of Jiangsu Province because he had Dafa materials with him.

[Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Dafa Practitioner Ms. Fu is Illegally Sentenced Because of Her Refusal to Be Brainwashed

In January of 2002, officers in Ms. Fu's work unit forcibly sent Ms. Fu, an over 50-year-old Falun Gong practitioner and an employee of Hubei Province Government, to a detention center. She has been on a hunger strike for nine days to protest. After the illegal detention term expired she was sent to a brainwashing class and then sentenced to imprisonment. Right now, Wuhan City's police authority does not release those practitioners who do not give up their Falun Gong practice. After their detention terms expire, practitioners are sent to brainwashing classes.

[Malong City, Yunan Province] Arrest of Zhao Younian As He is Clarifying the Truth

Mr. Zhao Younian, a Dafa practitioner from a village in Malong City of Yunnan Province, was reported to the police when he was clarifying the Dafa truth at a small factory. Police arrested him and his home was ransacked. His current situation is unknown.

[Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Practitioner Couple Ni Qinghua and Wang Haiying Illegally Detained; Their 4-Year-Old Child is Left at Home without Care

A Dafa practitioner couple, Ni Qinghua and Wang Haiying, has been illegally detained at Dalian City's Forced Labor Camp and Shenyang City's Masanjia Forced Labor Camp, respectively, for one and a half years. Recently it was heard that Ni Qinghua's mother was afflicted with a serious disease and hospitalized for surgery. The couple's four-year-old child is left at home without care. Their family is in an extremely difficult financial situation. There are many Falun Gong practitioners like this couple in China. We call on people with a sense of justice to support and help these determined Dafa practitioners regain freedom as soon as possible.

[Fengcheng City, Liaoning Province] Illegal Arrest of Three Practitioners

On April 17, after the police staff from Shalizhai Town's Police Precinct in Fengcheng City, Liaoning Province found Dafa banners in the streets of Shalizhai town, they forced practitioners Guan Yuguo, Ju Changtian and Ms. Wang Shufang to write the so-called "guarantee statement," but the three practitioners refused the request. The vicious policemen then illegally detained them. Right now, the three practitioners are being detained at Fengcheng City's No. 2 Detention Center, and policemen ordered practitioners' families to pay "ransom" to bail them out.

[Gaoyang City, Hebei Province] Determined Dafa Practitioners Tortured to the Verge of Death

The Gaoyang Labor Camp in Hebei Province is notorious for brutally torturing Falun Gong practitioners. Ever since November 2000 when a female division was founded, thugs in the labor camp began to maltreat female practitioners as well as male practitioners. Practitioner Ms. Zhao Yuhuan who was transferred from Shijiazhuang City to Gaoyang City suffered all kinds of inhumane abuse and tortures during more than one year of detention at Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp. Recently, because Ms. Zhao refused to accept brainwashing, she was cuffed onto the iron handrail of the upper bunk bed with her hands straight up. In addition, she was not allowed to sleep for over 50 hours. Afterwards, she was handcuffed to the lower bunk with her hands horizontally stretched to both sides. She was forced to sit in this position for over 20 days. In order to stop her chanting, "Falun Dafa is good," vicious policemen covered her mouth with many layers of tape. In spite of being faced with these maltreatments, Zhao is righteous and fearless. She protested with a hunger strike and safeguarded Dafa with her life. During her hunger strike, policemen often brutally shocked her with electric batons, beat her and kicked her. It was so miserable that other prisoners who were not practitioners couldn't help crying.

Vicious policemen led by Yang Zemin, the chief of No.5 Division of the Gaoyang Labor Camp, used all kinds of excruciating means to torture male practitioners, even torturing determined practitioners to the verge of death.

[Shanxi Province] "610 Office" Officials Order Local Governments not to Leak "Secret Information" about the Persecution of Falun Gong

According to reliable sources, recently persons in the "610 Office" in Shanxi Province issued an order to local "610 Offices" in districts, cities and counties, demanding them to pass down a new directive to all work units. The main point of the order was this: when foreign companies ask about policies regarding Falun Gong, we should be highly alert and very careful in our responses. Prevent any leaking of "secret information" because of carelessness during work! (Note: The "610 Office" is an agency created specifically for the persecution of Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems).

[Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Dafa Practitioners' Abuse and Mistreatment in a Brainwashing Class in Hanyang District

On instructions from officials in Hanyang District's "610 Office," Huang Liping, who is in charge of the brainwashing class in the Hanyang District, posted Dafa-defaming and slandering slogans everywhere in the hallway and meeting room. She also added listening devices to the rooms, with monitors, changed the wooden doors to iron ones on rooms where practitioners are locked up, and assigned staff to follow Dafa practitioners closely, wherever they go.

In early March 2002, in order to validate Dafa, practitioners tore down all the vicious slogans posted on the wall. Policemen were all shocked and didn't know what to do. Afterwards, they madly beat up practitioners. Policewoman Yang Ronghua from No.1 Section of Hanyang District's Police Department not only beat practitioners herself but also had a staff person named Tian from Hanyang District's Defense Department push practitioner Ms. Cai Hanzhen to the ground, injuring her tailbone, and madly beat her so severely with an iron clothes hanger that Ms. Cai was black and blue all over and was unable to get out of bed for a long period of time.

Dafa practitioner Mr. Zhang Quanhao was sentenced to 1.5 years of forced labor. His term was extended for another six months, only because he spoke the truth in front of government officials of Hanyang District and some policemen that "Teacher Li Hongzhi did not tell practitioners not to take medicine." After his 2-year term had expired, he was put into Hanyang District's brainwashing class. After the Spring Festival this year, he was badly beaten by some vicious policemen and other personnel because he ripped four posters of a display that slandered Dafa. His room was later installed with an iron door and staff members were assigned to watch him around the clock.

Dafa practitioners Zhang Lamei, Cai Hanzhen and Wang Guiquan were put into a detention center. There they suffered all kinds of abuses and mistreatments. The detention center concocted various pretexts to force Dafa practitioners to hand over money. Those who refused to do so were only given a little bit of food (less than 2 ounces of rice) to eat or had their detention terms doubled.

[Judong City, Jiangsu Province] Vicious Policewoman Who Beats Others is "Justified" While Person Being Beaten Gets Term Extended

Such a strange thing happened in No.4 Team of the Women's Center of Judong City's Forced Labor Camp: A policewoman named Huo Xia punched and kicked Dafa practitioner Ms. Wen Jianfang. Ms. Wen was unable to stand still and keep her balance when being beaten. She grabbed something when she was about to fall down. She happened to grab Huo Xia's sleeve and Huo's sleeve was torn. As a result, Huo charged that Ms. Wen Jiangfang was "attacking a police officer" and had Wen's term extended for this "crime."

[Songyuan City, Jilin Province] Officials Shift Blame to Frame Falun Gong; Citizens' Complaints are Heard Everywhere

Officials in Songyuan City shifted the blame for the "Fire Accident of the Dongsanjiazi Food Bank", "Fire Accident No.7 /Primary School" and "Destruction of the Changbai Railway Section" all onto Falun Gong. They claimed Falun Gong would take the lives of "500 young boys and girls," and would poison the water supply, and other fabricated stories, which made people who don't know the truth all escort and pick up their children and forbid their children to drink tap water. People who know the truth all say that the officials now don't care about corruption and gangland activities, yet frame Falun Gong with all kinds of bad names.
